This ^Who cares. Ill start the thread now....
"Cam Newton has to return Heisman and Auburn forefits 2010 season!"
Least excited I've ever been concerning the Heisman.
How long until he has to give it back?
@schadjoe Reggie Bush was left off 8 ballots when he won Heisman; Cam left off 105 about 11 hours ago
If he won it by, like, 30-60 points, I wouldn't have been as angry as I am right now.
700 f*cking points? After he was pimped out by his dad for $18,000? Where's the freaking intregrety?
they should really reconsider how they go about the voting and criteria for nominees for the heisman. that award used to sacred now its almost a joke. its basically for the player on one of the teams going to the bcs championship, which at one point that didnt matter. and second crooks and criminals. it is very tarnished in the publics eye. they need to change it up. one year let the public vote. because our paychecks have nothing to do with college football. that way someone like kellen moore might have won last night. instead of loss because his kicker missed and didnt play in a conference. but most of all hes just a good dude. but thats why theyd never let us vote because americans love the under dog. not the flashy kid that knows he already won sitting there "tweeting"on his cell phone on national t.v. while the other three sit there like their in church, knees knocking nervous. guess the newtons never heard of humility before. poor parenting on national t.v. i love it.
Actually, while I'm not completely satisfied with the results most years, I'm glad that they don't take the player's "integrity" into question. That opens up a HUGE can of worms. Who is going to decide what behavior is ok, and what behavior should disqualify a guy from being eligible? Hell, OJ is a double murderer, and he still is in the books as a Heisman Winner. As long as the kid is eligible to play, under the NCAA guidelines, then I don't think that his character, or lack thereof, should play a major part. If you found out that the kid was running a crack house on campus, or had stabbed two people to death, then I think that is one story. But unfounded allegations of a kid being involved in a pay-for-play scheme is another one, entirely.
The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.
you proved my point exactly if you have children and there role model is cam newton. and you also have a good moral compass can you look your child in the eye and say. listen this is what went down, he won it and hell got away with it. heisman should be the definition of "role model" greatest and most outstanding player in the game. instead its hell as long as they put up good stats we can turn a blind eye. its not just college football thats integrity is in question its todays society. and by turning a blind eye your too to blame my friend. the fact is if theres doubt he shouldnt have won. saying goes where theres smoke theres fire. well its a big bag a crap and it stinks. but hey it sure is exciting isnt it?
in saying that i think they should change it. so that kids see that there not bigger then the game. that making the "right" choice in life is important. think jamarcus russell. cam will be the next bigger then life guy to be caught drinking the "syrup" did you watch the ceremony? its cool to tweet while on t.v. and also mentioning his mothers womb . this kid is a moron. but hey you want your kids to admire him good luck with that.
and as for the former heisman winners that messed up like O.J. he gotta away with double murder but stilled showed hes a scum bag so the heisman committee should separate themselves from people like that.
If you have kids (I don't), then it is YOUR responsibility to teach them right from wrong; not ESPN's, not the NCAA's, and certainly not the Downtown Athletic Club's. As it stands, you are making a tremendous leap, that Cam Newton is guilty. There was a TON of smoke around the Duke Lacrosse players, too. All there is, at this moment, is a bunch of hearsay. I'm not turning a blind eye, I'm waiting to hear all of the facts before I make a judgement.
I think the fact that Dad is not allowed to be anywhere near an NCAA event is a little more than hearsay. He will be declared ineligible shortly after the NC. The NCAA needs to get their money before they bring down the hammer.
kmoose i highly recommend you dont reproduce then. especially if you cant make judgement for yourself. im talking about role models and moral standards thats all. it seems you lack some. so your saying as a child (assuming your not now) that you never had a role model? before you get all offensive and quote someone on here and pick a bone with them. put yourself in the person shoes and see there ideas before responding.
The hearsay is not whether or not his father did anything wrong, but whether or not Cam Newton knew anything about it and was, therefore, culpable.
Do you really believe that Cam didn't know anything was going on?
