Why would he want to go the UNC anyways? Even beyond their potential sanctions their depth chart at QB is as bad as ours and they don't run the spread (from what I can tell). He needs to come to ND, and we need him.

Rest assured, this could be the biggest recruit in the class. This kid is completely underrated. Seems to have a solid arm and some serious athleticism (notice him juke Lateek Townsend out of his shoes in his highlight video).

I agree. This kid is impressive.

OMG!!!!! What a good day in terms of getting two commitments in terms of what fits this team.

I don't think he's committing today. He's probably using that as a sales pitch to recruits as much as anything.

Ryno do you have a link for that or anything?

I heard on another site board that he was planning to commit after his State Finals game saturday ... But I heard this first from Irish 305 from our board who talked with Rabasa and I have another source from another board

He was always planning on announcing after the State Finals, it's just been moving towards ND with recent news.

Rack Em if you look at the Tony Alfred threads Irishfan305, who is a credible source, and is in contact with Rabasa made the statement that Rabasa told him about Golson.

I think UNC is staring the Death Penalty squarely in the face. The situation therebis much worse than U$C. I don't know why Butch Davis still has his job. John Blake is as dirty as mud. U$C did not have a coach culpable in any of their stuff. If I were an athletic QB, I would look at the Irish as a perfect fit. I believe the guy on the other site. he has been spot on with some other stuff. I think this recruiting class can be very good. They won't be the highest rated players. But, they will be athletic, fast guys. I hope we can keep the coaching staff together.

Because ALL ND QB's would have a minimum of 2 yrs. eligibility left going into next yr. Crist and Rees both have a 'leg up' on him based on playing time, Hendrix is/was more highly touted and then IF Golson comes on board. I hope that he sticks it out (fight for the job and to get a great education at no cost); but just saying .....

I disagree. Remember Golson is playing basketball too, so I'm not sure how he'll practice with the football team and play on the bball team without losing reps to the other guys.

Massa loves Kelly and Notre Dame. I find it hard to believe he would transfer just like that.

If Dayne is the starter next year, expect none to transfer. That is what they all signed up for. If Hendrix/Rees/Massa/Golson wins the starting job, who knows what could happen. They could all stay, some could transfer, it is impossible to project. But the QBs we have on our roster now signed up under the impression that Dayne would start for 2-3 years before they would get a crack at it.

I think Massa had to have known that him seeing any significant was not very likely. I don't think he'll transfer

I think if anyone transfers it would be Andrew Hendrix. Like someone said earlier, he was more highly touted as a 4 star quarterback and in most cases 4 star quarterbacks feel they should be on the field. I do not know Hendix personally obviously so maybe a solid education is very important to him and maybe when it's all said and done, he earns te starting role. Im not in any way saying that he can't play because I've seen nothing but highschool videos which mean nothing at this point. It just seems to me that Golson is a true spread quarterback and really fits BK's system.

This is very accurate. For Rees or Massa to transfer they would likely have to go to Duke or take a severe educational downgrade. 3* transfers do not typically have their pick of schools... even 4* guys like Demetrius Jones didn't exactly have his pick of schools... but Hendrix would definitely have more options.

If I was a betting man, I would guess that none transfer regardless of what happens. But if I had to put money on someone it would be Hendrix or Dayne for NFL reasons only.

Hendrix has a good chance at starting against Golson, Rees or anyone else for that matter. The coaching staff is very high on him. We'll see.

Way too early to speculate on this kind of stuff. We have no idea who will start out of Crist, Rees, Golson or Hendrix, and trying to pick transfers based on who might start is next to impossible. The only thing we do know is that Massa won't be starting.
