You got to be kidding me! Well I'm sure it will be on ESPN or ESPN 2

This mean Hurby won't be doing the Usc-ND game :(

I live in PA. But I think all this means is Oklahoma will be the primetime game on ABC and ND USC will be on ESPN. No way they wouldn't air this game in PA.

Both Espns will be airing other SEC games. It is either ABC or ESPN3... or other methods...

I had the same problem with the BC game. I bought ESPN's game day for $24 and them found out it was in SD not HD, and a crappy SD signal at that.
How does Billings, Montana end up as a Notre Dame island in that coverage?

Wow, I'm amazed that ND isn't on in PA, especially the northeast where I'm from. It is a whole region full of Catholics, with a majority of Irish descent. ND is just as, if not more, popular than Penn St. up there. Craziness. I have to say, it has finally paid off living in Alaska! Having to wake up super early to watch Gameday, and having my football end pretty early -4ET, there is finally a bright spot.

Oh yea, for those of you who want to watch the game, but not on the computer, I'm going to dig up a post I made awhile back about how you can do that by hooking your computer to your TV, and streaming the game directly, it's incoming.

Mods, if you grab it can you kindly link it for people? It had pretty positive reception last time, although I'm uncertain if anyone actually implemented it besides myself. It is always pretty useful for the community a few times a season, and I've typed it out two years in a row now. Can we save it, sticky it, or something when coverage issues arise for people to let them know, depending on their computer and TV, they have options?

Taken from my post here: http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/notre-dame-game-day/53896-oct-2-notre-dame-boston-college-7.html

For people who have an S-Video slot on your video card, there is a way to stream the game to your TV, provided you have a newer TV with said S-Video attachment.

I'm going to explain how to display your computer monitor on your TV for ease of viewing. I have a 22 in. HD monitor, but I still don't want to sit in front of the computer for a whole game. I would much rather chill on the comfort of my couch, watching it on my 48 in. TV. The quality will most likely not be HD, unless it is being broadcast in it, and your comp supports it, but a whole screen of football is still better than a computer monitor. Without further ado, this is what you need.

First and foremost, your video card must have an S-Video port on the back. If you look in the rear of your comp, and it should look like this:
s.video.gif

Your video card is the area on the back of your comp where the funny looking cord you have to screw in resides. The S-Video port should be right by that. With this knowledge, you need to find the corresponding port on your TV. Most new TVs will have them, but if not, again, your screwed. Now these most likely ruled out several people, but if you have ports on the video card, and TV, you're in luck. Make sure you see how many slots are in the port on each, because you will need to purchase an S-Video cable from Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, or wherever is closest. You'll also need an audio (red/white) to run from your headphone or sound port on your comp, into the red/white slots in the same display setup as the S-Video. Generally an analog jack for the headphone slot on your computer will work fine, with the corresponding red/white jacks on the TV end. You can get both of these cables from Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, etc.

So to confirm this, you need to get an S-Video cable and an audio cable, all of which fit into the slots on your TV and comp. Make sure you get the right cables! You can get both of these for roughly ten dollars each, although some can be more expensive. Now, once you set up the cables from your computer to your TV, you need to run your computer display onto your TV.

You can also use an HDMI cable provided your computer and TV have an HDMI port, and you'll only have to run one cord, but you probably have an S-Video port before an HDMI on a desktop, and an HDMI is more likely on your laptop. So check both if you have them, as an HDMI port means you only need one cable, but it will likely be more expensive than an S-Video and audio. Thanks to Military Irish for pointing out my forgetfulness. :D

I have XP 64 because I refuse to buy a new OS every time Microsoft wants to add new features they should have just included in the original OS. Your OS may vary slightly based on Vista or 7, damn you Microsoft. But I digress, and won't get into my personal feelings towards Microsoft. Now, to get the display going, head to Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Display>Settings>Advanced. A window with tabs should pop up. Look for your video card tab and hit start control panel. This should bring up a new window with options for your display. You want to select clone display, so it displays on the comp and the TV. You'll have to adjust your resolution until it is right for your television screen. This option should be in the final control panel you opened to select clone. You can just keep scaling it down until you get it right on your TV.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask and I'll clarify. This is how I'll be watching the game tomorrow! **** you ABC, I'll get the game on my TV without your ****ing help!

If this gets enough attention, Mods, can we make a thread out of it for ease of viewing and staying on topic?

P.S. If you can do this, with a small investment, you can watch whatever you want on your TV! Cool documentary on the internet you want to watch, but don't want to sit in from of the monitor for two hours? No problem, you now have the ability to watch it on your TV. It's a great investment if you can do it, as I watch a ton of movies I download on the TV as well, all for free. The internet is great.

Ok from now on I will go to you instead of Best Buy because That was easy to understand and it has pictures.

But also another way, or at least the way I did it was if your TV and computer has an HDMI hook up, I just plugged them together and got crisp HD quality, but it kept me from IE dammit.

I was nervous there for a while hearing about the coverage but not seeing the map. Good thing for all the Irish Catholics in Western New York!! I feel the pain for those in Western Penn and elsehwere. I think all of NY, Penn and New England should be blue.

Yes HDMI works and requires only one cord, I'll put that in there. Thanks.
