There have been supposed turning points for the last decade. Why not just enjoy the win.

The only good this about this year, with all the injuries is that a ton of players have had to step and gained valuable experience that benefit this team later down the line. Crist better watch out also, because it's not a given that he will come back next year as the starter.

I haven't seen them rush the field since, '05 'SC. As for the crowd, there were a whole bunch of no shows. That is not the supportive fan base I expect for ND.

I was more so reffering to the rushing the field and the loudness during the interview. Great to see that kind of enviornment.

Is this the turning point for the program?

I think you've got to be careful to make those kind of assumptions. I'm not proposing that the expectations be kept low but they shouldn't get too high. It was a big building block though. If they can go and beat Army and USC then I think you can say that this game was a turning point. Certainly a feather in Brian Kelly's cap and a big win for the players and coaches.

This feels good. Good for those seniors. Let's win out fellas. Let's beat those Army boys, and then the Trojans. Lets head to the Champs Sports Bowl. Lets sew up the seams with our recruits.

And let's enjoy this win...

Go Irish!

Beat Army.

I'm pretty sure he is eligible for a 5th year.

I think Kelly said he would fully support Brian for a 5th year.

Kelly said that if he were involved in the decision making process, regarding 5th year seniors, he would bring Smith back. That said, Smith has used his eligibility up, and is ineligible for a 5th year.

I'm not sure if this is the turning point, but I do know that in previous years when faced with adversity this team tanked and today I saw a team that sucked it up and not only held their ground but took some back and beat a good Utah team.

hope the two qb recruits had a blast at this game. Any idea of any other recruits besides the qbs who were at the game?

Side note:
We looked dominate today against a ranked team.

Iowa lost today against an unranked team.

Christian French will be deciding early this week between Iowa and Notre Dame. Just thought Id throw that in there.

Oh my misunderstanding.

I thought he was campaigning Brian for another year. But I see now he was basically just saying that he would like for Brian to comeback.

I don't know but i hope all the recruits that were there and at home watching saw a team that doesn't give up and showed that we can play good ball.

The good thing about beating a ranked team is that ND will not be an after thought on ESPN and recruits hearing all the doom and gloom will have plenty of highlights to see on SportsCenter.

Somewhere in that sea of green, my brother is celebrating on the field. I could not be more happy right now, the Irish looked great and a lot of much maligned players had phenomenal games today. Duval, Harrison and Brian Smith, Gary Gray... they all had kick *** games. **** yea!

I hope all of our recruits were tuned in to see the emotion and the potential that is ND football.

Everett Golson
Brennan Scarlett
Jay Whitmire
Matt Hegarty
Blake Thomas (2012)

I think this is the right list of players that were there today.

Wouldnt be suprised if Whitmire committed this week. Would be nice to see a bounce back with verbals from Whitmire and French this week.
