RB Huggins trips to UNC

Mike Farrell
Rivals.com Football Recruiting

Many prospects look at an official visit as a fun opportunity to experience new parts of the country while being treated almost like royalty. For Savon Huggins and his family, however, official visits are serious business, and he is putting each one to good use.

Not liking this hoping our coaches left a good word with him.

UNC is not going to happen for Savon but his father said they were going through the OVs as planned. They treat it more like a business than anything else.

From everything I have read of late, it is a Rutgers and Irish run to the finish for this kid. We are not helping ourselves on the field but Rutgers is not doing much better.

A win against Utah and or U$C might help :)

The thing that worries me about our on the field issues is how quickly we abandon the run in close games. Savon and his father seem to be very smart and I'm sure this fact has been brought up in conversation. It may be because BK doesn't have faith in one single running back but the history of BKs offensive play calling points to another reason. His spread is a pass first offense and thats what he turns to when things get shaky. So I think our on the field problems go beyond Cierre's yardage and our win/loss issues when it comes to recruiting Savon.

I think it has to do with 2 things. First, I don't think that BK has full confidence in any of the backs besides Allen which could prevent him from running the football in key situations. Second, the offensive line isn't where it needs to be in order to run a successful running game in the spread offense. In time, I think we will see more out of the running game.

We did the same thing with Allen earlier in the year. As far as our OL, when we try and run the ball we have been fairly successful (minus the Stanford game.) It hasn't been left out in the offense because its not effective.

With wood it is a toss up he hasn't shown very good vision. If we had a back that ran with some authority it probably would be better.

Rivals has new info up on Savon after his visit to UNC. Not a member but maybe a member could help with info..?

Mike Farrell is reporting that his trip to UNC went great and could have bumped them up to as high as number 2 behind Rutgers but I cant read anymore.

Nothing special. Same thing he said while coming to ND. Evaluating running style and where he would fit. 2 more officials scheduled. Florida in December and Rutgers in January. We are still in the top 5

I dont think he will like Florida at all. If he has questions about our offense, then he will be lost with Floridas. It appears that Trey Burton will become more and more of "the option" in that offense. They are not a drop back and throw the football team, and they are not a run the ball off tackle with the running back 25 times a game offense.

As for Rutgers, I also believ they are his number 1and their late visit scares me more than anything. I love this kid and would love the addition but I like Rutgers in the end for this battle.

Guys i know we can lose people to Florida and California I do see how a 18 year old might like those states. Let's not lose this kid to Rutgers it's just wrong !!!
