You people are ridiculous and have truly lost sight of reality.

this iz how kidz talk thz days, thy shortn wdz so thy cn txt fster!!! BIG DEAL

All kids do it, recruits, commits, current ND players......Half of what Cierre would puts on his twitter and facebook page I cant even decipher!!! (Not that I am singling him out)

That's just not a satisfactory response for me. That may be how lots of "kids" talk these days, but that doesn't mean its how ND kids should talk. It's certainly not how people talked where I went to school, and it's obviously not how people talked where I went to law school. The reason a lot of people like ND is the academic standards, and that's just not how kids who meet those standards write.

If he would of stuck to his commitment...and LOI...I think he would of pulled a Shaq Evans....missing home....and feeling entitlement. That is just my opinion....so relax....:)

Maybe. On the other hand, I can think of lots of kids who transferred away from ND, but almost nobody who was on the 2-deep as a freshman and transferred.

:whoknows:

As for wanting to stay close to home: I have no ability to empathize with that point of view at all. I'll just have to trust that it's important to him.

what kind of statement is that?? of course its important to him. what part of "only schools in Florida" is mystifying to you?

Do not lose sight of the fact that this is a kid that we are dealing with here....not educated, mature, resoinsible *wink wink* individuals that we all claim to be on here. Everyone needs to change thier expectations a bit...

C'mon man, that's kinda ridiculous and simply not real. If you feel that way, you probably should start rooting for The Sisters of the Poor or The Daughters of Charity; I think they use perfect grammar when they twitter. Because as Zibby said, many of ND's players text/twitter the EXACT same way as Lynch. It's just the way many teenagers communicate. Shoot, I teach language arts and literature to middle-schoolers at a Catholic School and if I put things like 'LOL' and 'wuzup' and 'wen r ur nxt tests' on the board they all laugh and admit that that's the way they text.

But when they write essays they don't write in 'text speak'; they use 'real' English. And even though I work mostly with kids from low socio-economic backgrounds, I have many former students at Loyola High School, an elite high school that former ND recruit Anthony Barr recently graduated from. And yes, those students text like Lynch does. That's just the way it is.

I don't think it was very stand-up of him to text Alford instead of call him; if he were my son and he was insistent on de-committing (which I would have a MAJOR problem with, but I digress), then a phone call would be the only way to go. Actually, I'd probably make him fly to the university to tell them to their faces and to thank them for spending their time/$$$ recruiting him, if we had the funds to afford it.

But like many of you, I'm over it. I don't wish any ill will on the kid, but if he commits to Urban Liar then it wouldn't exactly hurt my feelings if he had to sit behind all those other stud (and very unhappy) d-linemen they signed last year and their team went into a tailspin b/c Urban Liar just doesn't have that fire anymore. But other than that..whatever. (I mean...wutevr)

I have typed and erased many things I have thought in the last half hour. But it comes down to this. Its like the girlfriend that tells you she still wants to be friends. It may sound ok for 30 seconds but after that, you know it was all Bull **** to begin with. I really don't care about players until they are actually signed, but still follow the recruits. This whole commit/decommit stuff reeks of the NBA to me.

Until Feb.....who's word is really bond?

I'm gonna miss this kid. My heart goes out to him and his mother. I know he's a good kid. I'm glad he'll always be a Notre Dame fan...

Aaron and Alice. I knew you were real. I know you're still around lurking. Good luck and god bless. Your grandfather would understand. May Aaron go on and do something special.

Sorry Buddy...Can't agree with you on a stitch of this... I'm sick of getting played.

I wish these 4/5 star guys all the best but please remember its only a star rating system .I hope Lynch does well wherever he goes and avoids the injury bug. But-----and here's the point Notre Dame needs more than a few 4/5 star guys, they need the grunts who come in prepared to take the 2/3 star and make it shine. All these guys dont fullfill there potential. Lou and Ara's teams were made up of a lot of guys who on paper were not highly touted, difference was Lou and Ara could get them in school.

please stop posting, he speaks perfectly fine in real life. if you even follow recruiting and watch his interviews he speaks pretty well for a 17 year old.

I disagree, he always sounded very uneducated. I told several of my friends this the day he committed, at the Linebacker in South Bend.

Just got done texting Aaron Lynch and this is what he texted me about the rumor of him decommiting via-text....

I sent alford a text. Me and alford was reaaaaaaalllll close. The reason i fell for ND waz b/c of him. He waz my father figure wen ma grandfatha past. His father passed also. And to call him it was gonna be one of the hardest things in my life i wud had to do. I knew if i called i wud have never de-committed. Its like tellin your father yu dont want him to be around him at all. I knew it wud have been emotional b/c me and alford are as close as any son and father. I knew if i wud had called i wudnt have de-committed b/c it is to hard to tell your father some like that. Yu dnt know how it is. It waz fukin hard to send him that txt. B/c the reason i committed is b/c i fell in love with him, louis, man-ti and everyone there. But it wasnt the place for me. I dont expect yu to beleive it or even feel wat im sayin.Sorry

He also said that he doesn't wanna leave Florida and he wants to play in the 4-3

Bull- oney! (You thought I was going to say ****, didn't you?)

My read: forget the texting or anything else, EXCEPT, some people are one big bag of "saying what they think everyone else wants to hear." That's why his texts don't make sense, that's why he makes no sense, and that is why his mother begs for us to pity her poor seventeen or eighteen year old weeping son.

I knew seventeen and eighteen year olds that made a tough commitment, and followed through with it, and ended up with nothing but bullets and shrapnel to show for it.

Having everyone in the world wanting to PAY you to hit people where it is totally legal, and you become as famous as a rock star, is a hell of a curse. N'est pas?

I'm only 30, so I don't think it's an age gap issue. It may be a socio-economic thing, but I follow lots of people on twitter, have over a thousand facebook friends, and have never seen anything like that. Maybe it's different in Canada, or maybe it's different amongst the kind of kids I grew up with.

Either way, it was a punk move not befitting a ND student athlete.

It is funny how some people are bashing this kid for his texting grammer. Enough already. I am 40 years old and am well aware of how the texting thing goes. If you want to be critical of his behavior and how he informed the staff of his decommitment then go for it. Texting his recruiter was the easy way to let go for him, cowardly in my opinion but it's just my opinion. Kids from all back grounds and education levels text in almost a different language, so just except it and move on.

I think it has gotten worse in a very short period of time. It's how the kids talk now. It wasn't 5 years ago, but it is now.

I had no intentions of coming back in here because of the bashing some of you guys have done to me and my son, but one of the members sent me a message on facebook and told me to come and read this new thread. Well, first of all, I will be honest just like I have been from the beginning. My apologies for the actions my son took when he decommited, I had no idea how it was done till Monday evening. I wasn't with him when this all took place and of course he didn't even tell me because he knew it wasn't the way it should of been handled. Thirdly, I didn't lead you guys on about my sons commitment at all. Fourthly, the comments that some of you are making about my son, SHAME ON YOU, my son will achieve and he will make it in college and will become a better man. Yes, he's made some mistakes in this process, but to bash him and to say the things some of you guys have said.....................WOW it's just terrible. The way he texts, come on now we are in 2010 and maybe some of you guys should get with it, current players at ND do text the same way my son does and guess what they are all supportive of my sons decision and haven't bashed him in no way at all. Aaron is a great person on and off the field, he's got the biggest heart, and at the same time he's learning what it is to become more mature, and thru this process he has stumbled in some areas where he wished he would of done differently, but by god that's a part of growing up. For all of you who have bashed him and said some negative, mean comments...........I will pray for you!!

Yes we did and we have no regrets that we did. My father would only want my son to make the right choice for himself and to be happy. It's a honor that we did it regardless....

Good luck Aaron and Alice Lynch...Alice I know you will make sure Aaron keeps his noise clean and graduates from whatever school he chooses.

On a side note Aaron Lynch and Notre Dame chapter is over. Could we close this thread also...No need for anymore bashing
