I always thought leaving like he did was a bad move. He didn't really get a fair shake behind that terrible o-line in '07, getting benched after a half of football. But Jimmy got banged up that year and Jones would have played some. Also like he says in the article he could have probably played other positions at ND.

I wish the man all the best, but there if ever was a poster boy for "College Football as a Means to the NFL" he is it. Hell, he's even outmaneuvered Randy Moss with his many "stops."

Why would he want to go to the NFL when he has such an illustrious career ahead of him as a writer??? There's definitely more longevity being an author with a degree from Finger-My-Butthole State than being a team player from the beginning.
