Nick went to ND's Junior Day but didn't leave with an offer. ND has a bunch of offers out to OTs and Nick may have to work an offer through camp.

He is a Kentucky Verbal, but Scout is now listing him with a ND Offer...waiting to be confirmed by other sites.

From ESPN.com:

Martin exhibits the playing strength and finishing ability to be a dominant run blocker. Has the height and athleticism for the offensive tackle position at the major level of competition; his frame should allow for the additional body mass necessary to play the position.

Probably our next commitment. If you watch his highlights, he's very athletic for his size, and the way Zack has been playing the coaches know the little brother can be just as good.

Like Paul and David Posluszny right?

Not sure how I feel about this one. Could be creating a legacy down the road. Not an elite offer list but he was offered by the 3 schools that beat us this year. He must have passed the Harballs mean and gritty test which we do need more of.

The tape looks good. Obviously the competition is not the best, but still you can see that he is dominating.

DO not see the need for another OL in the this class. Surprising they are offering so late as well considering he has a sibling on the team.

They must know something more about one of our current commits, or one of the remaining prospects...

actually we have been pursuing another OL for months...

that guy (antonio richardson) has shown little to no interest, therefore, we have move on to a guy just as capable. considering zach might be our best oline men and he is only a sophomore, i am very pleased with offering the younger bro...

I was thinking the same thing. Hope not though.

I think we can always use more Oline and Dline. Martin has a good offer list. He fits the Kelly Oline system well. Tall, Athletic lineman with Quick feet.

I agree with you we could always use some more OL/DL. Heck I kind of root for this kid going to ND, because he plays for my Old high school where I played several years ago. I just hope we are able to keep our current commits and that we are able to get another couple of our hopeful prospects.

Studly offer list. Saw on the Rivals board someone said he got an offer today. Looks like you were right PI. Hopefully we can draw him in.

And yes, we have been chasing Mr. Richardson for quite some time. So, we can use another OL according to the staff.

He's alright but when he went up against a friend of mine (DE DAVID KENNY CLASS OF 2013 GET READY HES GUNNA BE BIG) in the game against Cathedral highschool, he couldnt stop any of the pressure from the line, while he was the best o-lineman on his team, hes not as good as some would have you believe the game ended 44-14.
PS, before you say im just railing against him, i have been to 4 of his games in person.

That's nice...

The entire Big 10 and some of the SEC schools think otherwise.

I would actually assume openings from other places ie: Floyd/Rudolph...right now we still have room for two comfortably...OLB + S. I do not think both French and IShaq will want to come together...it does get crowded at a position at some point. If we take an OL to get to 23, and are still serious about leaving a spot for Huggins if he wants it on signing day (when is his OV by the way?), then I would think the coaches know Floyd is looking ahead and Rudolph has no choice since he is going to be selected in the first round as the first TE off the board.

Keep in mind if there is no NFL season next year, there will be no draft. Secondly, unless Floyd starts to pick it up a little bit more, I don't seem him drafting well.

I have actually read the opposite, that their will be a draft no matter what happens for the season.

i think their will be a draft but their would be no guaranteed money. So at that time their would be no point. Either get drafted for no money and don't play football. Or stay in school finish your education, and play football.

but on the other hand Martin seems like he would be a good get if ND could pull him away from Kentucky but that seems like it could be hard from what i have read on here.

Yea we are all basically on the same page. The staff has done a really nice job up to this point and if we got a couple different breaks out on the field there would be a lot more bromance around here.

Looking at classes in front of the one currently being recruited I feel is always a good way to start (due to redshirting). I am hoping Lombard and Nichols do not see the field this year to save a year later, and because at Notre Dame unless a kid is an absolute stud (Tuitt/Lynch) OL and DL should take a year plus to add weight and strength. The staff seemed to want four in this class to give a total of six of the two year span. Since five start at one time, and we are loosing six by the end of next year...I say load up!

I agree with you totally. The last thing we want here is first person accounts of a player's performance. I much prefer having you relay information you heard somewhere else that we could all read elsewhere. Keep up the good work.

Filling recruiting needs not only have to be considered over two years of classes, you have to consider next year's prospects. Do we use a scholarship that should be preserved for next year's OL? Is there a stud there?

This year's senior class is low (9) with less pressure for 5th years than next year's could be (potentially 15).

I'm pretty sure that if there is a lockout the draft would occur in the first week of March or something like that.
