During the broadcast they stated that ND hasn't beaten a top 25 team since beating Penn State 41-17 on Sept 9th, 2006. That is sad and sobering.

All we lousy fans want at this point is a game we win when it is unexpected. It's been painful. Kelly is the man, I guarantee it kills him to lose.

I don't know how the rest of the season will go, but right now, I think Stanford is probably the best team we play, almost by far. They are really good. USC can score lights out, but yeah, their D is not great. Stanford impressed me a lot today. They are solid on all aspects of the game and just control it. It will be fun to see them play in the PAC10 and see what they can do.

ND is far from where they need to be, but it will get there. We have great skill players, but we really need to get guys who can win it in the trenches. I can't blame a QB in his third game for having an off day when he's getting whacked on every other play. The O line did a good job in the first 3 games, but obviously Stanford is just a really good team and our first 3 games were against good but not great teams.

Yea, Stanford is the best team we have played thus far, and most likely all season. This is my first college football season in Alaska, and because of that, I've been watching a lot of Pac-10 games. I think Stanford is going to go into Autzen next week and beat the Ducks; I would bet on it.

Is that the game that earned Charlie a 10 year contract?

Another stat that is just as frightening.. Our defense hasn't scored a TD in a long long time as well.

...indeed, a sad sobering reality...reinforces why the AD cannot give in to popular opinion...ND has suffered because not everbody is Jack Swarbrick...future looks bright

Two potential responses:

1. At this point, seems that any win would be 'unexpected.'

2. After losing 7 out of the last 8 games, I'd even take a win in a game when it's *expected*.

Well we should be dogs for the next two games. At least from watching a little BC an Pitt I think we may match up decent.

Stanford's defense got to Crist early and were in his head the whole game. I tip my hat to Harbaugh and I don't think we will see as well coached of a team the rest of the season. Pitt looked pretty bad the other night and BC is just freaking BC. I wouldn't be surprised if we win the next two. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost them both either.

I think the problem is the entire team only knows half the playbook and nobody knows the same half.

true, going into the season i really didn't expect the team to be completely transitioned into kellys different system..... it doesn't look like there on the same page all the time..... i can recall numerous occasions where a receiver ran a wrong route or a lineman did a wrong blocking assignment.....this is going to take quite a bit of time to learn the system.... kelly always talked about RKG's( right kind of guys) , or something like that, in the offseason..... unfortunately he doesn't have those guys right now, you can see that certain players on offense and defense are just not suited for his system..... hoping that kelly gets some athleticism on defense, PLEASE

Well....maybe he ought to practice what he preaches with his other famous quote... "Next Man In".... If the starters aren't getting it done, move him out.
