The defense needs to be ready for his speed, explosiveness and ability to convert 3rd and 15's with relative ease. They will not be completely prepared, but will obviously face somebody in practice who is...

a) Fast
b) Shifty
c) FAST!!!!

Who do you think it will be?

I'm thinking three candidates: Deion Walker, John Goodman or...Bennett Jackson. Goodman seems the most likely candidate because he played quarterback in high school. Both Walker and Jackson are not that important to offense or defense at the moment and would also be likely candidates.

If I had a choice, it would be Bennett. Similar size, very fast and very shifty, as well.

If I had a choice it would be Bennie Coney!! You see that kids video? And we are his number one!
On a serious note, it has to be Goodman. He has highschool experiance as a qb and he his very fast. D Robinson actually looked very accurate on most of his throws.

Robinson was 19 of 22 for 186 yards and a TD. I watched an eight minute highlight video and every throw of his was on the money. He is VASTLY improved, almost miraculously.

Here's the problem with using Theo. Theo Riddick, obviously, did not do as we thought he would on Saturday. He dropped two throws. He let another ball go right through his arms (fortunately Mr. Tai-ler Jones made the grab, anyway). Kelly wants him to be a receiver and expects him to be a big part of this offense. He'll need reps with the offense this week. Michigan will double or triple Floyd and others will need to step up.

If you're thinking speed, put Bennett Jackson in there, as I said before. He's a blazer and he's roughly Robinson's size (5'11", 6'0" range). Intersperse some Goodman for passing plays.

Goodman is fast though. Its not like we'd be putting speed aside for his qb skills. The kid can fly. As far as not being worried about D. Robinson's passing ability, you should watch some of the game from saturday. Dude was spot on with most of his throws. We're not going to be able to put 8-9 guys in the box all day because of their inability to throw. What mostly impressed me about Michigan was their front line on offense. They looked to be in much better shape and knew their assignments very well.

Goodman will almost CERTAINLY be Robinson in practice... he can throw and he's one of the fastest guys on the team...

BUT if you really want to throw a true versatile, do everything, athlete at this defense in practice you call in an old friend named Anthony Vernaglia... let him play Robinson AND offensive line all at once... the dude is like ND's version of Chuck Norris.

Doesn't matter who we put back there, NO ONE will be able to mimic Denard's play making ability. Key to the week for practice IMO is to have our fastest person work on rollouts (with the PASS OPTION) and use the LB's to work on ANGLES. ANGLES ANGLES ANGLES!!!! Denard is going to break some ankles if we don't work on angles. B. Smith needs to work on this more than anyone else cuz after Michigan watches game film from yesterday, they will be rolloing out to his side all damn day.

ShaqEvans meets all those criteria including not doing anything important. Plus he's got time on his hands.
