Coach Kelly press conference 8/31/10

Me 2. Filer is hell of an athlete. He will be the backup at the cat position and will be an important piece in next years defense. BK seems to really like Filer.

I'm pretty sure he said that Kerry Neal was the backup at the Cat position. Starter at Dog and the backup at Cat was my understanding. Filer is going to be mixed in there with Fleming, Neal, and Smith.

Just to be clear on this, that wasnt a Brian Kelly quote..... that was a Georgia domer statement. Not that I dont like it, its a good statement.... but lets not start making up quotes from Coach Kelly this early b/c last time around I think Weis had about a million made up ones that he never said.

But Brian Kelly DID say that in his press conference.

It was in regard to a question about recruiting QBs. The reporter suggested that Kelly might not recruit QBs because of the strong competition between all 3 freshman QBs.

Georgia Domer was quoting Kelly. It wasn't Georgia's statement.

Kelly said that... You're right. Like I said, it was in regards to recruiting more QBs.

As others have stated BK did say that in his presser. It was in regards to QB's and overall competition. You can watch it in the video at about the 15:45 mark of this video: University of Notre Dame Official Athletic Site.

Sorry my bad fellas.... it was mentioned when you guys were talking about shaq evans, thought Georgia was just saying that in regards to that situation and not quoting Kelly.

I wouldnt think he would say that at all about Shaq, as that would look a little unprofessional. Didnt realize it was about the QB competition. I got about ten minutes into the presser but my internet lags at times so I quit watching to be honest.

i think he spent too much time at Longo's Beach! he clearly has lost weight.

Kelly has talked about how he has been working out and counting is weight loss in pant sizes, not pounds. Made some comments about wanting to be physically ready for a demanding ND job and his energy level is up (even more) thanks to working out. Also made a reference that actions speak louder than words and it is hypocritical to preach conditioning while he is letting himself go. No direct slams on Weis but I think he phrased it in a classy way that got the point across.

Lot of paraphrasing there so don't beat me up for misquoting. There have been a number of articles from various sources and I think the original comments stemmed from a presser two weeks ago.

He also mentioned the toll that Notre Dame takes on the health of it's head coach and he expects to be the ND head coach for a long time.
