Cierre Wood may be the starter?

Truth be told, I can't wait to see what Mondo is capable of in this offense. Cierre gonna play a ton, but nothing better than having 2 guys with their game capable of turning shit on its head. They're both extremely talented, capable D-1A backs. Let them hash it out on the field.

No offense to Perry but Mike Ditka is asshole for giving the ball to Perry on 1st and goal in the superbowl. He knew Sweetness's dream was to score a TD in the superbowl and he never got to.

No offense to you, but if you've watched the Superbowl video from the NFL channel, Da Coach says specifically that he had no idea that Sweetness hadn't scored. He was too concerned with winning the game. It was not an intentional move on his part to not get him one, he just had no idea that he hadn't scored.

Oh, and Sweetness gets to score a Superbowl touchdown everyday in heaven.

Reggie Brooks was a monster. Come to think of it, Holtz just a monster backfield to work with throughout his entire career here: Green, Johnson, Bettis, Tony Brooks, Reggie Brooks, Watters, Kinder, Culver, Denson, Edwards, Zellars. Beasts. Hopefully we can see a couple of beasts this year.

Agree 100%, but I'll add that no line could have blocked for anyone under CW's running package. I was always very vocal about my distaste for the very unimaginative running scheme and actually felt bad for AA that he took some poop from folks. I think the guy is a fantastic kamikaze fearless RB, but when there's nowhere to go, there's nowhere to go. Hopefully Kelly's offense will allow AA to strut his stuff.

you beat me to the punch, well done. ditka was in his own world and focused on winning the superbowl. and like you said, payton's having his day with the Good Lord.

You'll be happy to know that I righted this wrong when I scored 3 TDs with Payton in the Tecmo Super Bowl some years back. The Fridge didn't even get into the game on offense.

I love the fact that there is some serious competion at the RB position. He have a lot of talent this yr but when we lose Hughes and Armando after this year, we have some solid backs to replace them. I look for Armando to start the season at the #1 slot but look for Cierre to really push him which will bring out the best in Armando. Old Man Mike has a good point in that Cierre has that "WOW" factor. We saw it over and over in the spring game. He also wouldnt be heading the KO attack if he didnt have that "WOW" factor. Cierre really fits this offensive scheme. The most important factor for me will be the fact that by the time Utah and USC roll around.... we're going to have some fresh legs in the backfield!!

IMO if Wood is the backthen that is a good sign... We have seen enough of the other three to know what we are gonna get and if Wood legitly beat out AA then obviously we have the right back for this system as I felt we may have...

AA is a good back, Wood looked amazing in the spring game... Personally, with kellys system, it is really going to depend on who can pass block.... I think they both have that breakaway potential, though many have argued AA hasnt had it.

Weis didnt have a good running system, AA can break away, theres no doubt there (look up high school highlight film of the kid, its crazy). In this system he will be more opportunitys to break it with how we are going to spread the defense out....

Maybe this year the offensive line will actually bring some drive with them while run blocking like we all hope as well.
