Perryman is friends with Anthony Rabasa. Early word was that they were a package, probably to Miami.
In Feb, Perryman announced a Top six - Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. The ND offer came around then. He has not visited nor plans to. National Signing Day announcement.
Probably a Hurricane.
Could well be a Cane, whatever, I don't think he leaves the State.
My understanding pretty much mirrors what was post by Legacy. He claimed an offer in Feb but there was little connecting him with ND. He's mentioned in Smitty's Blog at ISD on 5/26. And Luke Stampini of SoFlaFootball.com, I believe, did an article on Rabasa mentioning Perryman in passing on 7/14 which was 2 weeks before Rabasa visited ND.
Frankly I didn't find much about Perryman to warrant opening a thread. We've got more than enough profile threads now that didn't pan out but take time to update. Perryman was on a list of "to do's" but with low priority and probably would not have gotten around to it unless something developed. Generally after 6 months with a scarity of info from the recruiting services covering ND, it's not likely to happen. Then KPENN opened a Profile and I updated it with what little info I had collected (I've got about 160 pages of text on ND recruits in this class).
Rabasa's connection may pique Perryman's curiosity but considering his size 5-11 217, he didn't seem like the "type" of LB that Kelly is currently targeting (See Smitty Blog comment below about 3-4 LB).
ND verbal Jarrett Grace is 6-4 230 and fellow verbals Burton, Councell, and Rabasa at OLB/DE have similar builds to Grace. Perryman has the time to add weight but does he have the frame to carry it as a 3-4 LB?
IF he goes on a jockey diet and doesn't add weight he could be a Strong Safety candidate but I doubt he's gonna spend the next 5 years of his life on green tea and celery. But then again, Kelly and Diaco are recruiting CBs taller than Perryman.
From Stampini on Rabasa who was talking about several recruiters he liked:
... Coach Barrow is also a great guy, him and I talk a lot. Especially when Denzel (Perryman) and I go down to see him, great guy, great recruiter. ...
From Smitty Blog on Kelly recruiting in the South:
...
Denzel Perryman -- It's one thing to corral a recruit from south FL, it's quite another to land a recruit from Coral Gables, the same town the University of Miami resides. Perryman seems to be the one unusual recruit ND continues to recruit at LB because he's roughly 6-0, 210. That's not a traditional 3-4 LB. What he does possess comes from speed and quickness. MIA, FSU, UF, and LSU probably hold the edge for Perryman's signature.
...
Anthony Rabasa -- Apparently a tag team recruit with Perryman, Rabasa appears much more likely to stay down South than some of ND's other FL targets. UF, FSU, MIA and LSU hold better chances of signing Rabasa than the Irish, as of today.
