I am not worried about this game today. JC will throw for more than 300 yards and have atleast 3 TD passes. I really want to see what the new kicker is made of so I hope we can get him in the game at some point. Finally, I look for our D to put a lot of pressure on the QB. Washington may have a veteran O line but they aren't playing that way. I see 2 or 3 sacks and a bunch of Washington plays for a loss.

WE ARE ND!!!!!!!

I can't say the same... the only other game I felt this way about in the last two years is the SDSU game and we chould have lost it...

I know this team has grown in leaps every week since but the memory of the emotions SDSU brought has me in a wait and see mode...

besides I have said EVERY week for two years now that ND is due to lay down a complete beatdown and as of yet it has not happened... until we do fire on ALL cylinders (hello running game and defense) I believe I'll look at this team as a work in progress no matter who we play

We definetly are still a team that still is a work in progress. But we should win this game pretty easy.

Rumor is that Bob Davie is calling the game. Can anybody verify this. We're going to see 3 past or present ND coaches in one game.

He is. And, it's four if you count Holtz's halftime report. :)

Alright, I don't see Washington doing much today. As one of the earlier posters wrote, this Irish team is different today than they were at the beginning when we played SD State. At that time, we were a team looking for an identity. I believe we have found our identity now...that being a dominant passing team and a defense that will allow a lot of yards, but will create turnovers. All we need to do today to win is to protect the ball. As long as we do that, we WILL win this game easily. My predictions for today are:

1) The defense will finally get a bunch of sacks and will pressure the QB relentlessly, which will lead to...

2) The defense secondary will have at least two picks.

3) Jimmy Clausen will have a very efficient day throwing the ball, completing over 75% of his passes.

4) All 4 running backs will contribute and will combine for over 150 yards and 2 or more TD's. I see Jonas Gray getting some touches late in the game and will break a long run...as he has done in practice frequently.

5) As I mentioned earlier, we will win this one easily.

Mark my words: (even though I think I have said this every game this season. This time I really mean it!) This is the game we see a kick off or punt run back for six. I think Armando finally breaks one and takes it to the house. Let's also get an INT returned for six tonight. It would be good to see all three teams get a score. That hasn't happened for a long, long time. I think we roll this game.

Hey NDinL.A. - CRANK ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. I am concerned about this game because, although I have seen good things from the Irish off and on, I have yet to see a great game and they have not won on the road yet. This is a must win for ND and not for Washington. Washington's season is already in the tank and Ty's job is gone. They have nothing to lose here.
I would love to see ND in a blowout that they are not on the recieving end of and this could be the game; however, if it is a close game, Washington could get inspired to win one and pull it out in the end.

Okay, I was wrong, happily so, we look great...

I am officially looking forword to Pitt and the thought of us looking this good against them while Mark May watches in horror gives me a nice stiff one.....

WHAT IN THE HELL is going on in practice to make the coaches think Robert Hughes deserves ANY snaps over James Aldridge!?!?!?!

This is Ryan Grant vs. Julius Jones all over again and it's clear to everyone but the coaches who should get the ball...

WOW!! Clausen is only a sophomore, so I'm not trying to hammer him here. But he still makes some TERRIBLE decisions on throws. Maybe you say it's 4th down, so go ahead and try to make a play. But there has to be an outlet guy open somewhere, who has a better chance of making that play.

Actually, I take back the cheap shot on Bob Davie. I just became aware of this tidbit, which any true ND fan should be proud of:

"His final season included the 2001 AFCA Academic Achievement Award when the Notre Dame football team posted a 100% graduation rate."

The boys are looking quick and full of energy. Timing on a couple of patterns is just a hair off, but that will improve down the road.

jimmy is trying to shred this secondary. a secondary that allows about 70% completion . he has forgotten about the check down guy. he looks terrible after the 1st 2 series

Man, Washington really sucks. They have nothing on offense or defense. Maybe a little on the secondary, but Clausen seems to be over throwing a bit. ND should just pound them.

Would like to see some more intermediate passing we should be picking this defense apart right now. Not just just chucking the ball down the field................. not that I don't mind the entertainment :)

Overall, the offense has looked decent. Defense has been outstanding in the first half. Got lucky by a few dropped passes, but overall the D has looked great. I don't think there were any missed tackles, which I loved seeing. I think that we'll break out in the second half in a big way. I do wish that CW would have let Walker attempt the 48 yard FG. Well never know if he's getting over his problems if we don't let him kick the ball. I understand if it's 4th and 5 or so, but 4th and 19...come on.

boy, Ty has really run UW into the ground. none of the coaches talk, there is no passion, it's sad. i still don't feel sorry for him.
