Per orangebloods.com, according to this guy.

If true, I'm loving what Swarbrick is doing. Great schedules in the future.

Update: Four game series, in 2015/16 and 2019/20.

Sweet! We have had Texas number the last couple of times we played them. Of course that was before Mac Brown got to town. The 1996 game was a sweet victory though1

YES!! This is how college football should be 2 powers playing each other. Not Alabama or Florida beating down a D2 team.

They aren't messing around now that Kelly said "Line 'em up and I'll play 'em!" I like this, and as KPENN stated, I want to see football games, not scrimmages against D2 schools, unless it's App. St. vs Michigan! BUUUUUUURN. If you have to schedule a ton of scrimmage games to stay in the National Title picture, then maybe you shouldn't be worried about the National Title. I would rather watch ND play a great schedule and lose a game or two, than play a bunch of nobodies so they don't screw up their title chances. I get that it's about titles, but I want to watch good games.

They are called directional schools and they justify playing them because of their tough in conference schedule. Basically the SEC is the most greedest confernce in college football. They want more of their teams in BCS bowls.

I imagine all this scheduling (Miami, Texas) for an independent ND was being worked out while we wondered if ND would join the Big Ten.

This is the best argument for remaining independent. Schedule who you want. And, if you show well in Austin, you continue to make inroads on Texas recruiting.

Excellent.

By creating the strength of schedule to this level, we remain eligible to make the BCS regardless of conference affiliation.

OOOOHHH that would be great. Beautiful area, lots of history. Better weather and area than us suckers here in AqueductSmogville Cailfornia, although rain deluges can get scary in that central Texas area. Make sure to go river rafting. Head down to San Antonio or up to Dallas in a jiffy. I prefer San Antonio to anything Dallas. Ft. Worth has a fantastic zoo. Dallas has that JFK museum on The Sixth Floor at Dealey Plaza at the School Book Supposity lol (spooky, with an X marking the spot on the street where he was...

Traffic can be as bad as the NorCal bay area or the LA chaos. Or even the Alexandria/D.C. area. Get ready for road rage and make sure your A.C. works.

If you make it to Dallas downtown, the Spaghetti Factory rocks!

This game will be good for college football.

You must be talking about the Dallas West End, just around the corner from Dealy plaza where JFK...

Oh yeah, the ND vs. Texas thing would be great. UT Austin ranks just above SC on my least favorite, but that would be a super matchup.

JohnnyK, your NMSU Aggies rank just below my UTEP Miners and just above the Lobos, but all far beneath my Blue and Gold.

I have no clue why I have always rooted against UT Austin, even though I liked the hell out of Colt Mccoy and UT Austin's uniforms lol. Heck, I would even take Tennessee over UT Austin. (No clue either why I have always liked Tennesse...) My other favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys - massive respect for Tom Laundry and Staubach, but I hated them for always winning against my 49ers and Redskins. Major dislike for them when Jimmy Johnson and co. took over. Antonio Romo kinda soothes that dislike. Heck, I root for him and against his team. Is that possible?

Yes sir, that be the place. I took a carriage ride around the square. Excellent place. I was tempted to searcch for tunnels beneath the knoll but I was too intoxicated to be frolicing on such an evil place under influence. I high fived the indian chief inside the Spaghetti Factory headed out of the joint.

Anyone know how many games ND and Texas have officially played? I know we got the win column on this series for sure...

And that is exactly the problem ND has sprung unto themselves for so long. Daring to think they can play the best every single weekend and come out unscathed. How about some more creative scheduling?

2015 guys, not 2012... Oklahoma is in 2011 and 2012. Miami is 2012 in Chicago. We got nothing I know of besides norm in 2015.

JohnnyK,

You went to NMSU? I played ball there from 98-01.

Sorry just realized this prolly wasn't the best place to ask that question.

I would love to see our beloved Irish playing the Horns. I still remember Ricky Williams running for over 200 yds against us my freshman year, and scored 6 TD's.........

yeah 6TD's is not a typo, its sucked, REALLY BAD!!!

Yessir! I lived off Missouri at Sierra Verde apartments next to the mall. Ball, as in football? Did you get to know Walter Taylor well?

I remember that game too. Damn.

I lived right off Missouri too, but closer to the hospital. Yeah I played football there. I was recruited by Barney Cotten and Jeff Jamrog. I played high school ball in Nebraska and the entire staff under Tony Samuels was Nebraksa related, thus the connection.

I remember Walter. I was really close with Kenton Keith and he and Walter were really close. He had a helluva game against ASU in '99 @ Sundevil Stadium. That game was one of the best highlights I ever had down there, other than beating the Lobos with a final FG agaisnt Urlacher :)

If I can remember right, Walter came in in '99. I think he was the same class as P.J. right?

I played FB in HS against Walter. Yeah. 1999, you would have either been a sophmore or RS freshman.

What position did you play? Did you know a bald headed walk-on named Rob Camey I think, he was a place kicker. Walter was shifty man, skinny and quick in HS. He blew up in college though, gained like 20 - 30 lbs quick.

Those wins against UNM were always great. How awesome to have another Aggie alum here.

I'll take this to pms.
