CRICKETS!!!

damn i was hoping for alot of good news this weekend and it looks like nothing is gonna happen!

There was nothing that was supposed to happen. Williams isn't close to announcing, nor is Richardson. This weekend was all about making a good impression on both prospects, which we did.

Next weekend Lynch comes to town, and he will be announcing his decision before the end of the summer, most likely much, much sooner. And Hayes is announcing on the 30th, and ND appears to be in his top 2. If we go 0-for that weekend, then yes, we'll all be disappointed.

Everyday that passes without a commit is a disappointing one. Is that setting too high of aspirations?

Yes, considering we have only a handful of scholarships left and a lot of the players we want aren't committing until later in the cycle. As long as we get Hayes and Lynch this summer I will be absolutely ecstatic. I don't need to see a new recruit every day... or even every weekend.

I think that any kid visiting campus over the rest of the season will be waiting until they're home for a week or two before announcing. They all seem to be major prospects who've seen other places and are really weighing their options which means we wait.....

Richardson seemed excited and more knowledgeable about our program after his visit. Still gonna be tough to pull him away from SEC programs especially Tennessee depending on Dooleys ability to recruit. Kasen Williams also seems like a bit of a long shot due to distance. I do think we look solid with Lynch and Justice. This weekend certainly has the potential to boost our class rank. Looking forward to it with high hopes. Anyone heard anything on whether we're going to offer Phillip Ely or just mail it in and wait for next year?

I'm guessing the Ely thing is a pass. From what I've read, he's close to committing with a teammate. I think they've set up pressers for 2 or 3 weeks from now.

Tampa (Fla.) Plant offensive lineman Tony Posada has known for nearly a month where he will play out his college career. The 6-6, 315-pound prospect just needed a medium through which to release his decision to the public, and details on that event are being worked on now.

"I probably am going to make my decision not this week or next week, but the week after," Posada reported. "Coach is going to have a press conference with me and [Plant QB] Phillip Ely. He's thinking about the 10th or 11th [of August], but it's not set in stone yet."

I like our chances with both Richardson and Williams, though they are by no means "locks." It looks like we will be in it till the end with both players, which is all we can really ask for.

At this point, Ely will most likely not receive an offer. It looks like the staff feels good about the QB prospects in next year's class.

I think we're ok to pass on a qb prospect this year. Dayne will fit into this offense very well i think and I think Andrew is next in line from what Ive heard this spring. I think we're good to wait till next yr and I think its suits us fine bc there are better prospects. I think Richardson is waiting till National Signing Day so it will be a wait and see deal but I do expect an OV. If we can come out and run a solid spread offense and show that wide recievers 1-3 are looking at 40+ catches a piece and come out with 9 wins, we have a shot at Daniels and Williams. Im looking forward to watching what are offense can do with all these weapons. Kumara and Floyd on the outside with a solid mix of Theo, Evans, Jones, and Kyle in the slot.... the possibilities are endless. Armando Allen is the key to the offense in my mind. if he can bring 8 men in the box, we're gonna be hard to stop. agreed?

Next is Hayes. Then Lynch. Then I think we will have a slow period, until Daniels, Richardson, Williams, French and Huggins announce after the Michigan Official Visits. Okay, a guy can dream about the last part can't he.

Closing out a solid 2011 class!!

Closing out a solid 2011 class!!

Im well aware of the existing thread on who our next recruit may be but im looking deeper into the picture. Kelly has far surpassed my expectations as a recruiter and there is still alot of room and potential for more. Here is my realistic thoughts on what we have left and im looking for some feedback and guidance from a knowledgeable source:

DE: Aaron Lynch and Ishaq Williams
LB: Christian French
DB: Wayne Lyons and Jalen Brown
RB: Justice Hayes
WR: Davarius Daniels and Kasen Williams
OL: Cyrus Hobbi and Antonio Richardson

While myself and every other Irish fan pray for landing just one player like Cyrus Kouandjio, Doran Grant, or Savon Huggins, I think those are long shots. However, if we can really fill the immediate holes in our defense with guys like Lynch and French and a tough get like Lyons, we can be in pretty good shape. On the offensive side I think Hayes is a lock in 2 days and Im looking to get one of the 4* recievers interested. So landing some of these players every year and letting them learn under a guy like Kelly gives us our best chance in years at a National title run. agreed?

I like where your head is at, but from what I have seen, we have a pretty good shot at Mr. Lynch, Justice, Christian French, Davaris (if qualified), but I think Williams (prob. best chance of these guys), Ishaq, Lyons, Brown and Richardson are all long shots, don't think we have an acctionable offer out to Hobbi anymore.

I like it... I am basically pulling for the same class but ND is recruiting Ishaq as an OLB in their defense. I would keep an eye out for Stephon Tuitt to land in that DE spot with Aaron Lynch. I think we are a dark horse for Tuitt. I believe Hobbi is out of the picture due to positional needs. Definitely would like to get Ishaq and French at OLB even though that would give us 4 OLB's (doubt we can take 4 in this class but those two are stud athletes)

I think I'm gonna punch a small child everytime a Notre Dame fan starts a thread with how they are surprised with Kelly's recruiting ability. Or how he's exceeded there expectations. Or.... Well you get the point

I think we get Lynch and Hayes. Daniels recruitment no one has figured out. I don't know about the rest. I think French wants to play offense. Huggins is going somewhere Florida or Cali. Lyons probably Florida. Richardson we have a good shot.

Still a long way to Signing Day and a lot can happen. We have to win to get top recruits.

I think we have a good shot at Anthony Rabasa if we offer. Also, who I think is a stud. Also, if we win and get Lyons on campus we have a shot.

Rabasa has an offer. He's an animal

I like Rabasa and think he is a good kid (maybe even a RKG), but I dont know if he really fits into what Kelly is trying to do. If he wanted to become an OLB, then I would be happy to have him. All signs point to him being a DE though, which I have a hard time believing that he could develop into a top teir DE. I personally like the 6'6" long-athletic type DE bodystyle that Kelly has been trying to recruit. Just my .02, I know that I am the minority on this.

Other than that, I think Justice, Lynch and Daniels will all be Irish. I really like all of their games, their character and how they would fit into what Kelly is trying to do.

It would be nice if Manti started a trend of ND being NSD suprisers with 5* type guys.

All signs point to him playing the OLB / DE Hybrid that Diaco is pitching to him. I agree with Lynch and Hayes. Not sure Daniels will be able to get the test scores. Hoping for French or Rabasa at OLB

Tuitt/Scarlett/Niklas at DE

Shuler/Huggins for sex appeal

I think there will be a new wave of offers that we'll be excited about as the season kicks off.

That would be great if Rabasa wanted to come in as a hybrid. I was just going off of everybody listing him as a DE. He definetely has game, I just cant see him becoming a dominant speed rusher off of the edge. I like him as a hybrid though, he would cause some serious matchup problems for blocking RB's and TE's in pass coverage. With big, lanky guys taking up blockers on the line he could certianly get some great blitzing opportunities.

Huggins would be a great get.

I think that once the season starts, if we start hot, we will see a lot of guys that arent currently on the radar get serious about ND. Especially at safety. If we were to get into a hot 6-1/7-2 start, I cant imagine a stud safety not at least getting his interest picqued.

I think that is the most well put together response filled with the most knowledge and input that ive seen on this site. try putting together a legit response and leave ur desire to abuse small children on a different site. if ur a real irish fan and have done your research on BK then you know that he is known for his ability to recruit 2 and 3* athletes and get the most out of them by coaching his way with his system. i didnt expect him to fall on his face with recruiting due to the fact that ND sells itself in most cases.

I'm a newb myself, so I probably shouldnt even say anything, but not only is your response incredibly uptight (take a joke, my man) but also kinda stupid. When you see a guy with 4 total posts try to tell another guy with almost 700 posts what is appropriate commentary on the site, well... I really dont know what to say about that.

If those prospects identified as long shots defer their decisions until later in the year, there is the possibility that a strong season under Kelly's leadership could sway one or two in our direction.

I spear small children if they don't fill out their TPS reports.
