Hey now, at least Ragone got a hold of one of the pitches.

Floyd looked pretty sad though.

All i know is they looked like they were in good shape... And Ragone is looking HUGE.

Floyd has the most girly swing I have ever seen. Thank God he stuck with football.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a pro baseball player get struck out by a college female softball pitcher. They got into the technical differences and that the baseball players was accustomed to the ball being delivered 60 feet 6 inches in X seconds while with the shorter distance in softball the ball arrives in X-Y seconds. The reaction time is substantially less.

The also noted that while the pro baseball player has better eye hand coordination, rec league softball players would do better against the a softball pitcher male or female because they're accustomed to the shorter reaction time in softball.

Floyd on the other hand looks like he would struggle hitting a beach ball served up by Pee Wee Herman.

I got drunk at local college party with some softball team running my mouth. We went to park and Floyd looked like Ted Williams compared to me that night. Those girls can hum it in there.

My father has coached softball he whole life (he met my mother that way... seriously) His former player B.B. Bates is the girl who hit the HR to help win the softball world series for UCLA last month...

anyway, he has told me for years that the fastest softball pitch is about the equal to a 105 mile an hour fast ball, something like that... so yeah... it's crazy fast when it's that close.


add the rise ball and such... forget it.

She's the one I saw strike out Major Leaguers. This Week in Baseball had a segment, The Jennie Challenge, with her facing MLB players. Her victims include Mike Piazza and Albert Pujuls.

You've faced some impressive MLB players. You struck out Mike Piazza and Albert Pujols, and only Scott Spiezio made contact. Why can't major-league baseball players hit you?

Jennie's popularity has been rising as fast as her heater.I think it's the distance. They're used to having their big windups and long swings, where in softball, with the mound being closer, you can't do that. The ball is there too quick. Plus, they don't get too many rising pitches, so I definitely have the advantage there. I also think when they step in the box, they're not just looking to make contact. They want to hit it out of the park, so they have that long swing.

How fast are your pitches?

High 60s, low 70s. They say it's comparable to high 90s, low 100s (with a baseball).

Jennie Finch was on Pro's vs. Joes and she made the Joes look silly. The movement she gets on the ball is amazing and then coupled with the speed is ridiculous. One dude said he was a former college baseball player and she just put every pitch right by him. I think he got the bat in front of one pitch and fouled it off. Made him look stoooooopid.

Plus she is smokin' hot. Her SI swimsuit spread? Yum!

I was not a terrible athlete, but I had the painfully memorable experience of playing in the Iowa State fastball tournament against that state's best pitchers. One "old man" whose heart lacked any semblance of charity, struck me out on three fast risers the last one of which just about dislocated my shoulders as I chased it. My teammates were so embarrassed that they forfeited rather than appear in the same uniform as me. Michael Floyd: I can relate!

People who've never really played baseball have no idea how to swing with their legs. Even if Floyd would have connected on some of those they were going nowhere. Ragone had a full swing. I kept thinking if he actually hits one it will go far.
