What a letter!!! I was driving in the car when the news broke, got to the store in the middle of it and still sat in teh car for another 10 minutes listening to it and the analysis afterwards. I personally think it was a bit over-the-top, but if Kobe Bryant had left the Lakers in similar fashion (Kobe has his faults, I know, but when he almost signed with the Clippers there was going to be no show, just an announcement...and unlike Prince James, he had 3 rings at that time), I probably would have been even more venomous in my response!

Friggin' feeling bad for Cleveland fans right now. It's one thing to leave, which I can understand, but to leave in the manner he did...I just feel he did you guys dirty...

Sp LeBron forces all these teams to pamper him adn beg for his services. Then he calls a hour long special to announce where he will play knowing that it won't be Cleveland. This guy is an ass, The town he grew up in, the team that was willing to max offer him and build around him to build a dynasty. Maybe Lebron should have considered the fact that every team wants him but Cleveland needs him. That city is in such bad shape and he was a lil bit of happiness to alot of people down there. Class act. Way to shit on the city that loved you.

Hopefully Karma comes around, the Heat can't win in the playoffs so they trade LeBron to Memphis for some solid roleplayers and Draft picks then Dwayne and Bosh celebrate their championship in South Beach while he watches from home

damn man u can not blame the man for feelings like this. he done everything he could do to get him some help in there and he just ups and leave like that. this man has put alot of money out there to try and keep him happy and from the looks of things this mess had been in the works along time now. a few years ago they all renewed thier contracts so they could be able to do this. they all knew where they were going for long time.

lebron said last night that he did so he could win but if he wanted to win he would have went to the bulls. they had the best chance and the players to put around him already. the heat doesn't have any bench and not much money to get one. they just got mike miller and traded besley away.

Agreed. As a Bulls fan, I was kind of hoping for him. But, as a sports fan, I wish he would have stayed home.

I understand his anger and venom, but I wonder if Gilbert is going to regret writing this letter in a few days. Sounds a bit like a drunken email to an ex-girlfriend.

I don't think Gilbert will regret. I think LeBron made a business decision and now Gilbert is making a business decision. He needed to do something to keep interest from the Cavs fans and I think he really made a splash. He is stirring the nest, and giving something for the fans to rally around. Especially with the statement, "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE, You can take it to the bank."
He puts some pressure on himself now with comments like those, especially when a majority of the 'top' free agents have already landed. He needs to put together a solid, deep deep team with hard working studs who can just keep coming at ya.

On another note I agree with what is being said, Bron Bron's best shot at winning was Chicago, I think this Miami thing will blow up some how, unless they can find some solid veterans that are willing to take the league minimum and go join the circus. Personally I don't think it happens, I think people will do the opposite and try to pool talent to beat these guys.

I live in Cleveland but I"m not a Cavs fan, so I'm a little removed. I cannot believe Lebron did this. The thing that gets me more than anything is the fact that everyone talks about how he "gave" 7 years to the Cavs. What?!?!?! People who do the peace corps GIVE years of their life. He got drafted, got paid millions of dollars, and played basketball for a fan base who believe he could do no wrong. He was given WAY more than he gave anyone. What a selfish dbag.

Gilbert should have taken the higher road because he is not a victim in this situation but LeBron did'nt do this for money, or championships he did this out of selfishness. He wanted to go to a party town and take the easy road out while he continues to try to be the "first billionaire athlete". he is now on Dwayne Wade's team and it will always be Wade's team because he has the heart and ring. This is a Ohio guy who cheered for the aynkees and Cowboys, quit in the playoffs and refuse to shake hands after a loss, he is a selfish baby who spit in the face of the fans who loved him. This would not be as big of a deal if he just said i am going to Miami, instead he wanted to broadcast his hourlong infomercial on the LeBron brand
