I'd prefer the "Program Building" mentality that Kelly brought to the school again. We want kids that buy in; kids that will help others develop, not looking for TV exposure and an NFL deal.

And yet, when you hear people talk about what a great school ND is, to play football for.........95% of them will mention being on TV every week (TV exposure), and the proud tradition of putting guys into the NFL.

Sorry, Terry, but you're wrong, on this one. If you eliminate all of the guys that are looking for TV exposure, and hoping to get drafted into the NFL, then you will be filling out your ND roster with a bunch of 5'9", 185 lb physics majors, from the intramural teams. Some of these kids who pick their college for the national exposure and a chance to play in the NFL are still good kids. Why wouldn't you want them? Especially if they happen to be better than the kid you have starting?

Forget your hatred of USC for a moment. I have been a ND fan since 1970. When I was 9 years old. I remember wacthing the 55-24 blowout after ND dominated the first half and led 24-6. I have seen ups and downs for many years. I refuse to hold it against a kid because he chose any school ahead of ND. There is a possibility that Ole Miss may offer a scholarship to my son. Well, guess what, I am not an Ole Miss fan now and have hated them because I still remember ND losing to Ole Miss Montana's Junior Year.I almost pulled my radio out of the wall and threw it. But if my son goes there and plays I will be a fan. In most cases it is not a question of snubbing one school or another. Many times it is playing for the school you grew up pulling for. Which, in most cases, is the school in your own back yard. If a good player had the opportunity to come here that would benefit the team I say good for them and good for us.

One of the things I love about ND and have always loved about ND is the character of the institution. Over the years, I have long admired the character of its coaching staffs. Because of this, ND has inspired me to try to achieve that same measure of character and apply it to my life. You cannot boast of the big TV contract to help with recruiting on one hand, then complain if someone comes here for the tv exposure on the other.

yeah i am not going to blame a kid who can do the academic work and made a bad decision when he was 17 years old. if they want to come and buy into the program thats fine. i wouldnt make a habit of it as notre dame is about a growth experience as well as football. and to have a kid come in for only 1 year as a senior he would probably miss most of the things notre dame does to help build boys into men.

All of these juniors and seniors know that USC cheated and stayed. I don't think any of them should get special treatment. fUSC.

Forget the juniors and seniors, I want Shaq's good friend Byron Moore to come on over to the good side...how about Seantrell Henderson too.

Seantrell, while he didn't qualify and his regaee step-father would never let that happen because CJ's isn't a big enough venue for his re-world revival....(I keed), isn't headed to South Bend....and by all reports, you should thank your lucky stars. This young man will likely land in South Beach...

From what I've heard and read, Seantrell isn't a RKG. A person of his character would likely cause more problems than help the team. Besides, I don't think he exactly qualified academically for ND.

In fact I'm not sure if I'd want to take any of USC's players. They chose USC for a reason, and USC and ND aren't even close as far as the type of programs they are. ND was probably not the best fit for them.

I would take Jawanza Starling in a heartbeat. He is a great kid, and maybe one of the few RKG's on that team.

O'Dowd, Galiliapo or however the hell you spell it, starling..... i would take all of those. They went about the process with class. Got no beef with them, unless they stay at USC.

Never ever ever would take shawntroll though.

USC's schedule looks like a cakewalk. Even with all the sanctions and possible transfers, they may still do well on the field for the next 1-2 years.
