Pretty weak and classless. Complete and total bluffing/posturing as aforementioned.

Muck Fichigan.

Don't forget about our old recent rivalries:

Miami yearly ring a bell? Oh yeah and Army (can never replace MU though)?

We'll have ballgames. Utah anyone?

You're right, we don't need them, but the two winningest programs in history playing each other yearly is something I don't want to lose out on. So while I'm sure we can find replacements, I want ND/UM to remain a yearly staple.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be bummed. But no chump ass Big Ten guy is going to scare The University of College Football into submission.

Write that down...

Replace them with a Big 12 school like Okie St,Texas, or Texas A&M.. That'll help recruitment in that area.

Exactly the fact, given the recent history, that he would say, paraphrased, "we'll have to wait and see. We don't have a contract as of yet for the next twenty years."

Listen man, get a perception. Intent in the level of politics these men speak is complete and total posturing.

Do you work in corporate America?

"We love our rivalry with Notre Dame," Brandon said. "Never say never, but we've had a lot of discussions with Notre Dame about the future."

imo, his point was to ensure he wanted to continue the rivalry, but if things happen (beyond his control) then it might be necessary to move on.

...and personally, i dont see why that would bother anyone.

That was Politically Correct (PC). Period. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Was it bad luck or just bad timing.

Or are you a true Michigan homer? (I appologize for calling you out, but I'm a member of Michigan and USC boards too. Divide and conquer baby...)

No offense, but damn. Given the recent history, bad timing. Or perfect given my point of view.

It would be a serious pansy move by Michigan to back out of a big rivalry for financial gain.

Let 'em go pound---salt, and thanks for the support. I will always remember the hose job Notre Dame got last year by the refs.

I for one say F*** Michigan.
Good. That means we can schedule a GOOD team now.
Lets get some teams like Florida,Tennessee,Texas...and the like on our schedule.

Absolutely is one of the best games in all of college football. Completely makes this suck so much the more.

Business is business. All BS aside, these young men play football. After the business is done, lets play football, regardless of conference.

Any game ND plays is great. Bitchagain can either join the party or stay home and play with GI Joes.

color me lost...i just think he was mildly overreacting to the ADs comments...this is not a big deal, imo.

i guess i should have just said something like this:

"F*ck THEM!!! GRRR!!!! Pieces of SH*T!!! LETS JUST SCHEDULE FLORIDA!!!! ARRRG!!!!"

...and been done with it

Michigan would have a harder time filling that spot than we would... give them the same finger we just gave to the Big 10... and call

BYU
or
Miami
or
Colorado
or
Air Force
or
ANY F'n team in the country who would drool at the chance to schedule ND...

I hate to be cynical, myself...........

But, did you also believe Lou Holtz every week, when he was coaching, when he said that this week's opponent was playing as well as any team in the country?

Not a big deal. You just seem to have an obvious Big 10 slant. State your point and get on with it.

We would all enjoy a good stomping of the Meatchicken but I fear they may be looking to lower the calibre of play so help their record and let their next coach look better than poor Rod will this year. I was disappointed when Sam McGuffie didn't come to ND but was twice as happy when he left UM as he was a player!

Hell Yes...if Kelly and Jack would come here (Utah)...that'd be great...While Utah is short on tradition, they would have beaten most of the big 10 more times than not since '03.

I'd like us to go get a series w/

Tenesee or Georgia,
Texas or Oklahoma,
Miami,
FSU,
Washington or Oregon
Stanford if Harbaugh stays,
USC,
Navy,
Army or Air force,
one of Pitt, Uconn, Rutgers, Cincy, BC, or Syracuse
NC or SC,
one of Utah, BYU, or TCU

and you have a national schedule hitting most of the recruiting hotbeds, (if you give us credit for being in proximity to the Big 10 schools, we get that too) and a damn difficult scedule at that....I guess my thought is, So what big 10...so what skunkbear...you can't stop us from recruiting on your turf, so piss off.

Michigan and Michigan State have been great games, and great measures for how our seasons would go for many years, but our independence is more important to me than bending dickrod over for the next 10 years...

I believe there are great teams, that play a great brand of football who would be happy to have us on their schedule...and we could easily replace the "strength" of schedule any big 10 team would give...in the end I think we would benefit on the recruiting front as being the altrenative to Vanilla in the big 10 recruiting zone.
