Two way player for Saguaro HS. First Team All-State Offense as an OL. First Team All-Conference on Offense and Defense.

Rivals projects him as an OT while Scout and ESPN project him as an OG. His HS roster lists him as OL-DL.

His bench of 405 is 100 pounds more than that of recent ND OL signees Christian Lombard and Matt James.

Hobbi's picked up 5 offers in the past week from the PAC 10, Big 12, Big 10 and ND.

Scout ranks him as 4 Star, #12 OG.

He's added offers from ALA, CAL, OU, A&M and UTN. Nice haul!

Irish Illustrated has an article about Notre Dame moving up on his list. Could this be another potential offensive linemen commit in the near future? Anyone hear anything else about this?

According to the article he has been talking to Kerry Cooks a lot over the last few weeks and his interest is growing. Both sides are also interested in keeping the option open as a DE prospect. We could be in line for a visit.

A 285lb Defensive End?

D Tackle maybe?

Said DE in the article, that's what I based it off of but I see your point. Actually 6'4 285 aren't bad measurables as a 3-4 DE anyway.

No, they are actually damn near perfect for a 3-4 DE. Now I don't know what they project his future measureables to be, but that is not at all crazy to have a 285 lb DE. In fact, it is basically the norm.

Didn't realize how big DE's could be in this system. Just checked ND's current roster, and, with the exception of a few, most of our DE's are 280. Well played

Yeah, the DE in the 3-4 defense is a hybrid player that needs to have the strength to take on a 330lb guard while still maintaining the athleticism to dance with an OT. Generally speaking, they are better against the run and worse against the pass than 4-3 DEs, but in this defense edge rushing is usually handled by the OLBs.

Their numbers are getting out of control. I hope Amir realizes what he is getting himself into. They have a very stacked class and this was a big get. They need offensive line help especially because they appear to be on the outside looking in for Antonio Richardson, Aundrey Walker, Cyrus K, and a few other elite talents on the front line.

I blame the appeal process. Just too many loopholes for them to work through. Well played SC, well played.
