Short mobile RB productive rushing or receiving. Michigan's been chasing Hart since at least November of '08 and they appear to be his leader at this point. He's been to Ann Arbor.

Stanford among his early offers.

Made a visit to Auburn and picked up and offer. Auburn and UF (No offer) lead.

He also picked up offers from Cincinnati, Miami, and Texas Tech.

Hart also added 7 pounds to 190.

ND needs to get him on campus quickly to avert an early commitment to the SEC.

Isn't this Mike Hart's brother? Wouldn't Michigan be the favorite?

I googled asking if the Hart's are brothers and didn't find an answer. The question was also was raised on MGOBlue but I didn't see an answer there either.

Scout still show UM as "High" but has a new article about the his Auburn visit and AUB being in Top 2:

Speculation on MY part:

Is Hart and/or parents concerned about UM's NCAA Investigation? Or Rodriguez's job security? The "incoming" UM AD recently said, Rodrizguez would be the coach this year. (There's a thread on UM woes in the "Other College Football" Forum,) The incoming AD didn't say anything about the 2011 season.

Perhaps Hart like the way AU uses RBs more than he likes the way UM currently does.

Maybe he likes the cows on campus.

Not sure if they are related, but Mike Hart was from the Syracuse, NY area.

Cool, thanks. I guess I just got confused when I saw Demetrius wearing a Michigan hoodie. I think It was on rivals a while ago.

Dr. Phillips RB Dee Hart loved his trip to Alabama and 'may be converted,' but he's open for now
By Chris Hays | Orlando Sentinel

Dee Hart at Alabama: Dr. Phillips RB Dee Hart loved his trip to Alabama and he says he 'may be converted,' but open for now - OrlandoSentinel.com

Dr. Phillips running back Demetrius 'Dee' Hart didn't exactly stick the Crimson flag in his hat after a visit to the University of Alabama on Thursday, but the highly sought Hart saw plenty of things that impressed him in Tuscaloosa.

He took in the campus and a spring practice scrimmage with teammate and best friend Ha'sean "HaHa" Clinton-Dix, who has already said Alabama is on top for him and recently said, "Bama, they're not going anywhere."

We caught up with Hart via text message late Friday night.

"Oh it was a great day. We watched a scrimmage and had a meeting with Coach (Nick) Saban," texted Hart, who left for his Alabama visit with Auburn leading the way among teams pining for his services. "Everyone there was great and I had a blast with HaHa. I may be converted. ...

"Overall it was one of the best colleges, if not the best, I've been to. It's a nice area and campus ... great people and coaches."

Asked who his No. 1 choice is right now and he replied, "Don't have one."

So all of you Auburn and Alabama fans are going to have to watch this saga continue, and Florida fans might start thinking they still have a shot at the coveted running back.

But before everyone starts getting their hopes up, there is still at least one more thing to consider.

"April 12, Michigan," Hart replied to what his next plans are. So he'll add another chapter with a trip to Ann Arbor, where he already has a good friend and former Dr. Phillips teammate Ricardo Miller on the Wolverines' roster.

Miller had committed to Michigan in early 2009 and moved there before the school year in order to attend high school closer to where he'll be going to college. He transferred to Ann Arbor Pioneer High where he played his senior season.

He was unable to coax friend and former teammate Kenny Shaw to join him this year, as Shaw stayed close to home and signed with Florida State. But don't think Hart won't hear the pitch, and Clinton-Dix will hear it as well. The future of Wolverines' coach Rich Rodriguez is a big concern for Michigan prospects. Not many recruits want to commit to a college with a coach in limbo.

Hart actually was very very close to committing to the Wolverines at the end of this past season, but then decided to hold off while he started to take unofficial campus visits. Each school he has seen has had an impact on his considerations. He's been to Florida, Florida State, USF and of course Auburn and Alabama.

So the saga continues with Hart and HaHa's Excellent Adventure. They're having too much fun right now to make any commitments.

Was at UM's Spring Game last weekend according to

Spring game a boost for Michigan | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

BY JOSH HELMHOLDT FREE PRESS SPECIAL WRITER

Possibly the most impressed of the Florida visitors, however, was Hart. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound running back visited U-M for a home game in 2008 and is a former teammate of freshman wide receiver Ricardo Miller. He said this recent visit nearly sealed his commitment, but he will return to Ann Arbor for Michigan’s BBQ at the Big House event in May for one more look.

Michigan close to commitment from Orlando RB Demetrius Hart | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Michigan close to commitment from Orlando RB Demetrius Hart

By JOSH HELMHOLDT FREE PRESS SPECIAL WRITER

Michigan has been recruiting Orlando Dr. Phillips running backDemetrius Hart since early in his sophomore season, and the Wolverines’ diligence appears likely to pay off in the form of a commitment.

The 5-foot-9, 190-pounder reported this weekend that he is leaning heavily toward announcing his commitment at a Michigan recruiting function next month. He attended the Wolverines’ spring game in Ann Arbor and said
the visit all but solidified his decision."That was always going to be my No. 1 school, and when I went up there and brought my mom, that really kind of confirmed everything," Hart said.
Hart is one of the most heavily recruited running backs in the country for the class of 2011. He has accumulated more than 30 scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), Notre Dame and Ohio State
.
As a sophomore, Hart rushed for 870 yards and 12 touchdownson 130 carries. He also caught 36 passes for 547 yards and five more scores. He followed that performance with more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns in his
junior season.Although he shares a surname and a similar bodytype with Michigan’s all-time leading rusher, Hart is more of an all-purpose back versus Mike Hart’s tough, inside running. He possesses 4.43 40-yard dash speed and an excellent pair of
hands, which would make him an ideal component of Rich Rodriguez’s spread offense.Freshman wide receiver Ricardo Miller was Hart's unofficial host last weekend in Ann Arbor. They played together on Dr. Phillips’ 2008 team, before Miller transferred to Ann Arbor Pioneer for his senior season. They have remained close friends, and Hart got daily updates from Miller when the mid-year enrollee started classes and workouts in January.Michigan’s two biggest competitors for Hart are
Alabama and Auburn. The Crimson Tide got a commitment from Dr. Phillips safety Hasean Clinton-Dix on April 17, but Michigan’s lead for Hart looks strong for the time being.

He was supposed to be SEC Bound.

Dee Hart will announce tomorrow (Friday the 3rd) that he is switching his commitment to Alabama.

First casualty of the RR uncertainty.
