Agile linemen could play on either side of the ball. Grew up a Michigan fan, when to camp there last June, and caught 5 UM games last Fall. I'd say that puts UM in the leader's slot.

Zettel strengthens effort -

2/20 By Josh Moyer, NN Staff Writer

Last summer at a UM camp Zettel's coach bought a book on daily exercises and workout routines which inspired Zettel. His bench increased from 240 to 370 in a year. Now "he wants to be a kinesiology major".

He's looking for four elements in his ideal college:
  • Academics ("Like a school with a high graduation percentage")
  • fan base
  • program strength
  • coaches
N.B. This interview took place a couple days before the story on UM's NCAA Non-Compliance broke. Let's cut the kid some slack and not pile on. Zettel plans on being at ND's Junior Day.

Post comments on UM, NCAA Violations, and Coach Rodriguez's hot seat in the IrishEnvy thread on that topic, http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/other-college-football/51899-ncaa-rules-michigan-out-compliance.html

Per Allen Wallace

Zettel sill has UM leading over MSU and ND. Zettel expects to be at ND Saturday for Jr Day and thinks he'll pick up an ND offer.

Per ISD, he didn't leave with an offer and barely got any face time with the coaches. He was disappointed but impressed with ND and will continue to work hard for an offer.

Feel kinda bad for the kid actually, not getting any love from the coaches. We'll see how it goes with him...

In-state programs lead for offensive lineman Anthony Zettel

In-state programs lead for offensive lineman Anthony Zettel

Per ESPN's On The Trail
4/27

Guard Anthony Zettel (West Branch, Mich./Ogemaw Heights) is in possession of more than 10 scholarship offers, ESPN affiliate Web site SpartanTailgate.com reports. Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois, UCLA and Stanford have extended offers to the 6-foot-4, 260-pounder. The in-state schools currently lead, "It's still Michigan State and Michigan. But I want to get out to Penn State, Iowa and Wisconsin and see what they have to offer before I decide."

Another OG that chased an ND offer and didn't get one due to more urgent needs and available scholarships.

Zettel slightly favors Michigan

Zettel slightly favors Michigan

Offensive lineman Anthony Zettel (West Branch, Mich./Ogemaw Heights), one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan, seems likely to remain in state to play his college football and it looks like the battle between Michigan and Michigan State is going to go down to the wire.
Zettel attended Michigan's spring game on April 17 and Michigan State's spring contest the following weekend. He has scholarship offers from both schools as well as many others.
"I have 14 offers right now," Zettel said. "Penn State offered on Monday or Tuesday. They offered in writing."<!-- end free preview text --><SCRIPT type=text/javascript> function switchPostLink(newlink){ document.insidersignup.action = newlink; } </SCRIPT>

Zettel chased but never got an ND offer. I've marked his Recruit Profile (NMI) No Mutual Interest.

A couple of weeks ago I moved Anthony Zettel to (NMI) No Mutual Interest. He had recently picked up and offer from PSU and had a Top 6 of UM, MSU, IOWA, PSU, UC and UCLA.

It appears the NMI lable was premature as he camped at ND and put on a good show.

Going to Penn State. Kind of an upset in my mind, I think most thought he was Michigan bound.

Wow-didn't really see that coming. I really didn't see him leaving the state of Michigan. I'm also really shocked that he didn't go UM but also am not overly surprised since I felt he he would have been commited to a Michigan school by now.
