LMAO!!!
Looks like you read the write up too huh...
Write up???
I went to high school with a kid named Miller. Whenever the point that clinched the game was scored be it football, basketball, whatever, he bellowed "MILLER TIME!" equivalent to Game Over or The Fat Lady was singing. Back then Miller was considered a snooty beer, "High Life", not one for the masses (or sports fans). My dad owned a bar (shot and a beer joint). Miller was considered a Ladies beer.
The phrase struck me when they flashed a shot of Miller's jersey and then the empty netter.
I'm sipping on a cold Miller as we "speak."
Speaking of snooty and Ladies Beer
Q.E.D.
It was on special for 1.39 a quart. Added a couple shots of Jack. Just to liven things up. Have your edit button ready in case I post anymore tonight.I'm just getting started... Yippeeee
Sounds like it's become THE Old Ladies Beer. The AARP Special.
AAFLAC!
Sigh, another "personal" slam/slap/shot* at old people --- and Bridge as well! Hell, I was playing a rubber or three with some of my old (and not so old) cronies just last night. The bidding was heated and cards were flat-out flying all over the table during play!Wow...What a game. That made an NHL game look like old people playing Bridge. Up and down the ice, action everywhere. Very impressed.

Though I was born in NY and have lived in MN for 31 years, I spent my "formative" sports years in FL where hockey was only important to the Canadian transplants. I do appreciate amateur hockey. Professional, not so much. One of my PE rotations at ND was ice skating under the tutelage of Red Smith (Nyrop was in my class) when I could barely put one skate in front of the other without doing a cold and painful face-plant. I scored a goal (as a defenseman!) in the brief hockey game we played the last day of class!
The high school and Gopher games I've attended were good fun. The North Stars game I went to was disturbing in its reliance on fights as entertainment. I haven't bothered with the Wild. I was thrilled while watching "The Miracle On Ice."
No matter. USA, USA, USA!
*In the unforgettable words of Foghorn Leghorn, "I keep pitchin' 'em, son, and you keep missin' em! You gotta keep your eye on the ball! Get it? 'Eye?' 'Ball?' 'Eyeball?'"
great game.... blows me away how people bash something just becasue it's envouge to do so... there is really no other reason than that when it comes to hockey...
I love baseball, soccer and football but the most exciting sport to watch by far is hockey... Olympic hockey to me may be the best sporting event in the world... i love it.
today is unreal... my boyhood hero Jagr gets blown up along with his national team, USA beats Canada in a thriller that mirrors the miracle on ice in more ways than one, and now we get Sweden V Finland??
seriously????
today is better than the super bowl
Sweden vs. Finland set to face-off in 20 minutes or so. Should be on MSNBC. Anyone gonna follow that game? You guys wanna follow here or fire up another thread?

Roger that. Hey u gotta crash huh buddy? Damn...
Wow....sounds like a scream.
*And in the unforgettable words of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.... "It doesn't matter what you think."*
Huh? Wha?
Oh, wait; I think I get it. What the hey, I learned to play Bridge with the help of dorm mates at ND. It was a good diversion during late (and all) night study sessions. It helped replenish the thinking and retention processes. The only oral screams came from players when their partners screwed up on their bidding or play of a hand. Or when someone managed to bring home a bid when faced with the "superior" skills and cards of their opponent.
*In the little-known words of Harlan Ellison, "I have no mouth and I must scream."**
**A story title, really, and a book title used for a collection of his sci-fi short stories.
