I think I fear Michigan State the most. They have a good team with a lot of guys coming back, they are our first road game.

Most excited to play USC at the end of the year. I think BK could have us firing on all cylinders by then.

Also what game or games are you planning to attend, just curious.. I'm going to Michigan game.

Feared: Normally I would say USC because they are always motivated to play us, they have more talent (as much as I hate to say it ), and they're at home. Not a good combo for us. The good thing is that for the first time since Holtz we have a better HC than they do. But....I agree with MSU, just because they ALWAYS play us tough, and they're always good at the beginning of the year.

Excited: Game one to be honest, only because I can;t wait to see what product we have under BK, and what players are playing where and how they perform under the new HC.

Home game: Depends. I've been to a game vs SC and Mich, so this year will either be Stanford or Pitt. Has to be early 'cause I don't think this CA boy can handle a winter football game in SB! But I will definitely be at one!

I was at the Syracuse game 2 years ago, froze my ass off. I went to the 1st game of the year last year vs. Nevada, that was the weather I had been looking for.

You going to USC, NDinLA?

I am torn, I'm for sure going to the Mich game, but I am half tempted to fly out to boston for the game against BC just because they aren't on the future schedule...

i agree with u, but for a different reason.
im scared for the pudue game because of our fanbase.yes i said it.
we as irish fans, and like many college football fans, come to expect too much nowadays.
im not saying that is particularly a bad thing, i mean we are Notre Dame.we have waited for far too long to be successful again.
i am scared that if BK doesn't win his first game it will cause a defect in our fanbase.i personally wouldnt.i see great things coming for us because of kelly. he is going to get us back to the top of the food chain.
we need a big win our first game to show what we can do,and for kelly to show us what he can do.

I used to go to the game at the Coliseum all the time, but I stopped going for my own personal safety years ago. The first year I met my wife (2006) she went to her first game at the Coliseum with her old college best friends who flew in for the game, one of them being Justin Tuck's wife. As they were merely walking through the parking lot, they were bombarded with more f-bombs and 'bitches' and other pleasantries than you'd hear at a sailor's convention by their Raider, errrrrrr, Trojan fans. (They were in complete shock. You're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.) It's pretty damn pathetic how these losers get off cussing out young ladies, but that's what you get with Raider fans.

So, long story short, it's just not fun b/c I usually end up wanting to punch one those mindless a-holes out, and forget about going with my wife b/c then I'll REALLY get into a fight, and probably jumped in the process. However, I was talking to one my student's parents who works in the SC AD office, and she sits where the SC fans are calmer and 'normal', and she can score me some tickets, so I think I might go for the first time in like a decade. What about you?

For some reason, I'm scared to death of the Tulsa game. And, as always, I'm counting down the days until we play the condoms...

Utah by far. I hate losing to non BCS schools and that is a distinct possibility. That team has a ton of potential and a great coach. That game really scares me.

Navy. Ricky Dobbs is back (I think), and they may even be ranked in the top 25 to begin the season.

Dont really fear any game..... one that will determine how our season will go i really believe is the UM game. RichRod has got his kids there now. We have more talent, but he has his style of players in a system they should now be used to.

MSU, BC, and Stanford will all be legit next year as well. Pitt as well. We have to make it through the gauntlet that is the beginning of the season and then we will see were we stand for SC.

Most nervous about USC.....until we beat them, they will be a monkey on our back.

Most excited about USC, for the same reason as above.

I'll be going to the Western Michigan game, next year. My buddy is a WMU Football alumnus, so he and I will be going to that game.

...Yup. And add to that it is later in the year, and could have serious implications on post season (yea I know, getting way ahead of myself, but the potential is there).

...It could be one of those bite you games. No upside, but horendous down side. I see that game, if the previous games go well, as a measuring stick for BK's motivational capabilities.

...you can bet Utah will come in there ready to smack people in the mouth...lets face it, their program's identity (along with most of the mountain west) has become "giant killers"...and in college football, there is no greater giant (mythical or not) than us. They have talent on both sides of the ball returning...

...and of course I have selfish motivation for the fear, since I live in Utah, and my wife's family are all Utes. Also, I'm planning on bringing my Father-in-law to that game...to lose would suck on every level...

i don't fear any games b/c Brian Kelly is in charge. There are no "lone wolf" coaches, no dissension, just a staff focused on the same thing and a winning culture being instilled in these players. ND will execute and won't beat themselves this fall. Yeah i'm sipping kool aid right now, but we will see a vastly improved product on the field this fall.

fear is not the word i would use, i think anxious is more appropriate, I'm anxious to see the purdue game to see what we are. Its an exciting time to be an Irish fan.

The rivalry games are always the most anticipated for me, we get um at home, msu will be tough.

But the last game is the one i am looking forward to. i want to see how kelly does against arguably the best program this decade in terms of winning. they cheated to win but they still won.

usc is head and shoulders above any team Kelly has coached against, if he's gonna be a successful coach at ND he will have to get out of south central with a win.

Most nervous: Not sure, I'm nervous about a lot of them since I think what this team will be next year is so up in the air (new coach, ? at quarterback, probably another year of questionable-at-best defense, etc...)

Most excited: Purdue. I wish the season could start tomorrow.

Going to: I'd like to go to Navy and Army games since they'll both be in my area, but I'm not sure tickets are on sale yet. Hope I can get some to both.

I'm not sure usc is head and shoulders, because I think Pitt would have beaten them, or given them a run for their money. Like you said to be a successful coach, you have to be able to beat so cal like weis could not do

I haven't missed a USC-ND game in ten years, whether in LA or SB. NDinLA, you are going to have to stop by my tailgate this year where it's safe. A friend of mine who is an SC grad and was a student manager for the football team has a special pass where we tailgate on the campus where no one else is, away from all the d-bags. There's usually about 40 of us, a nice mix of ND alums, ND fans, and very nice USC fans.

Actually, anyone who will be at that game this year, let me know because Irish Envy guys are always welcome to my tailgate. Only seven months until kickoff!

this past year maybe, but i think i would still take sc in that game. but over the last decade, usc has been the best program in the nation, sad but true.

yep not many coaches have done it lately, and the sc game will be a measuring stick every year.

You've got me laughing man. It's true though, the more we sit around and dissect the possibilities, the more we're bound to get pissed off.

I'm excited about opening a new chapter in my favorite book, and seeing the Irish KICK SOME ASS again!

I am super pumped to go to the scUM game. I can't wait to see Brian Kelly give DickRod that, " I'm gonna kick your ass from here on" look after the game. Also, I'm gonna try and make it to the Army game, God willing i can get tickets.

I'm alittle anxious to see how we open up the season. Thats about it.
