That's awesome, I've been there today for the first time, but just to read. I actually found it a much more enjoyable read than scout's scplaybook, b/c they have less trolls, and the posters there are much more realistic in their view of Chetey Petey and the program.

But I'm not sure why you posted that here. Probably should be on another thread...we don't want to hijack Irishblood's moment in the sun. I'll probably move this to the Carroll thread...

If the NCAA is truly going to dig deeper and actually do something about the recruiting violations in football as they did with their basketball program, Carroll moving to the NFL makes complete sense. I've never been a fan of Carroll. He has had some amazing teams at USC, but I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped ship before it sinks.

Carroll is a great college coach. But he was not respected in the pros and has an itch to change that. I think Seattle will be a great place for him.

Now the question is who will coach USC?

You're obviously right. Things like NCAA investigations, tougher PAC 10 competition, loss of key staff in recent years, etc, nah none of those things would possibly cause Carroll to dump the dynasty.

The NCAA will never assess the Death Penalty again. Alabama is proof of that.

People point to the lengthy impact on SMU. Funny thing is how many competive programs like UConn and USF weren't in Div 1 (or even owned a football) when SMU got brought to earth. Back then the NCAA should have issued the Death Penalty to the entire SWC less Rice and truly sent a message.

Goes to show how classy he is... I understand why SC fans are furious.

No matter how bad people say Charlie Weis did.. He NEVER cheated in any form to get recruiting/other advantages on his opponents.

I can only think of Slick Rick and perhaps one other coach that the NCAA required to carry penalties with them. Don't know if there were any others.

It should ride with them and in serious cases be a bar to employment at an NCAA member school.

lol. I visited that site yesterday when someone on here asked about USC forums. Read your posts after you posted. Funny stuff.

They might have some good things to say and interesting info, but my eyes simply can't handle those colors, unless an SC song girl is wearing them. I quickly took a shower, cleaned out my comp, and checked outside to make sure nobody noticed I had been on an SC site.

I just checked out some things on the net and it does look like he's gone, for me I saw something being up when the guys became ineligible for the bowl game and the way he responded. Kinda like desperate and what can you do they had the chance to get it right was sort of what he said. With the sweet deal he had, the flex of academics or lack of, the goo goo over la la land that guys from other parts of the country seemed to flock to looks like it is now over. I cant imagine why he would go-just kidding I'll bet the hammer is about to fall. Like I said many times before these two programs have never been excellant at the same time very often. I hope that trend continues. Too bad he cant take his sanctions with him to the NFL. Wait- even better if there are sanctions let those pompous @#$%$ from southern cal ( still like saying that ) get what they deserve and have to play by the same rules as everyone else. Who knows they may even graduate a few more guys. No more ball room dancing- boys.

Being abandoned by Garrett isn't unusual. I suspect Garrett knows where all the dead bodies are. He didn't get nor keep his job based on relationship skills. John Robinson found out he was fired by a message Garrett left on his answering machine.

When I heard about Pete Carroll leaving USC, I was at first happy because he is going to get his A$$ kicked in the NFL as he did before and I know he is running as fast as he can from the NCAA catching on to his recruiting violations that he has dodged up to this point.

But after thinking about it, I am now pissed because he schooled ND damned near every year he coached at USC. I wish ND had one shot to beat him into the ground! A MAJOR disappointment that ND never did that. His ego made me sick every time I seen his dumb smiling face on the TV.

Personally I don't think it matters simply because (among other things) he's a cheater.
