Sorry things turned out th way they did Charlie, wish it could have ended better, since you're ND alumni. Hope things work out for you in the NFL, and I'm positive you'll be a great head coach for another team one day. May God bless you and your family.

Records and numbers aside, Coach Weis proved that there are plenty of elite recruits who still know how special Notre Dame. He left the cupboard full and the next coach is getting one heck of a team.

Best of luck to you and your family sir! Family for life!!!

Pass right.

You may not have always been a winner on the field, but you are a winner in life.

God bless you and your family.

Good luck & God bless. Especially with Hanna & Friends.

And speaking as a Big Blue fan, feel free to kick Kevin Gillbride to the curb and turn Eli Manning into Tom Brady any time:)

Pass Right, Hanna and friends, brought back the swagger, never shied away from the expectations, developed 2 of the most exciting and best QBs in ND history and 3 of the most dominant receivers. Teams full of character, never quit, never were out of it. I'll remember the heartbreaking losses (last 4 games, USC 05 and 09) and the miracle wins (where to start? How about a rainy day at Michigan State.) I'll remember that the success of our next coach will be in no small part thanks to the talent and depth every single one of Charlie's classes have, a level that not only did he not have when he arrived but many thought that ND would never be able to bring in again.

Finally I'll remember that Charlie and his teams always represented the University of Notre Dame at its best, and reminded me why I root for the Irish (not that a reminder was needed).

Good luck and thank you Charlie and I hope to see you on the sidelines at Soldier Field as Lovie's #2 man for years to come.

Thanks, Charlie

Thanks, Charlie

I would like to thank Coach Weis, and tell him that even though it didn't work out, I still think of him as a stellar recruiter for the University. I wish him well in his future endeavors, and wish his family well. He left the program in pretty good shape for the next coach. Not all coaches turn out, especially here.

Good luck Coach, to you and your family.

He had his 'bad' as we all know, you gotta win more than that. He left things going more positive than when he came in. My hope is he told them you gotta get the players. I hope he pounded on that to the administration. I will be nice to see the coach not grilled by a bias media as much as Charlie was. This will be interesting because Kelly comes in as a good guy-if they paint him differently then fingers can be pointed at the media. Notre Dame hate etc. Like I told someone a few days ago who said they 'hate Notre Dame', I said yeh I know and I look forward to the day when you hate them even more-when they are winning.

according to Mike Greenberg Weis left ND's cubboard totally bare for Kelly... but wtf does he know?

ND has not been in this good of shape going into a coaching change in my lifetime with maybe the exception of Faust handing elite talent over to Holtz... if Kelly can continue the hype with his winning ways, BIG, BIG things are headed our way... the talent is there

I heard that Louis Nix only committed to ND because Weis wasn't going to be at ND. My question is how many 4-5 star recruits didn't come to ND because of Weis? Has anyone else thought about this?

For all the crap that this guy took it is interesting to see the level of respect. May you have a good tenure somewhere else Charlie and thank you for the big time 'try'. We all saw what you tried to do.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Anybody who said that knows sh!t about recruiting. Nix came to camp, then came on an official visit early in the year, then came back to ND for the SC game on his own dime. All this while the team was doing well and CW was in good standing. He came to ND for the school, with or without Weis.

Thank you CW, you left ND a much better place than it was when Ty left. You proved that you can still recruit to ND, and given the right circumstances, you can still win at ND. And your players did it the right way. Thank you. Things didn't work out, but you'll be aiiiiiight...
