Does anyone have a status as to the extent of Floyd's injury? What about Alllen's injury?

I can't confirm anything, but it looked like Floyd's knee was cut open when he landed on the track just outside the endzone. My guess is that he'll need stitches.

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I hope it isn't too serious. I really feel if he was in there, we would have sealed the deal on that final drive.

Stitches on the knee means out for a week or 2. Floyd might be one of those guys who has all the talent in the world and just gets injured on freak plays and sits out a lot.

I hope he is not one who gets that type of luck. We needed him on that last drive.

the question is is it the front of the knee, side of the knee or not the knee. if its the front he may have to sit. and that will suck!!!!!

How bout we throw him a ball that he doesn't have to catch 5 yards out of bounds? Not a freak injury. Crappy injury created by a bad throw.

I have to agree with that. I don't know how many times Clausen chucked it up in the air and I thought it was a pick for sure.

When I saw it I couldn't decide if it was a nasty scrape or his knee cap was exposed. What concerned me the most was when I heard the ref say "Stay right there". Then, I knew it was bad....or appeared to be bad..

Floyd didn't seem to be in any pain. If the cut isn't healed by next Saturday, heavily bandage that knee and get him out there.

What a great throw and call. The Mich backs have been pushing out receivers out of bounds the whole second half and Clausen has been throwing the ball out of bounds most of the game.
Safeties two deep, throw a crossing (tight end anyone?)
Safeties up, throw a post against that dwarf trying to cover Floyd.
No, throw a deep out, out of the end zone!!!

It was in the front and it was a big chunk of a skin flap hanging down. Ref told him to sit and don't move. We will see.

Thats what I saw and it was deep. So deep matter of fact that the wound was so shocked that there was no blood right away. Floyd will be out for at LEAST 2-3 weeks.

I read in the Chicago Tribune this morning where Floyd was quoted as saying he should be back at practice this week.

"I'm fine," Floyd said. "Just banged my knee up a little bit. It was just a slight little cut, and I'll be good to go next week and in practice."

Floyd did require stitches to close the wound, and he felt like he couldn't contribute much after that.

"I didn't really want to force it too much," Floyd said. "I think it was strictly up to me, if I wanted to come back in the game, and I just didn't think I was ready."

I don't think they could keep him off the field if they tried! I can't see a cut keeping him out that long either, maybe a day or two of practice.

The latest.....

On Floyd's stitched-up knee: "He (Floyd) took 15 stitches in his knee. He's a little stiff and a little sore, but he doesn't have any damage to his knee, other than he has 15 stitches, which in its own right is damage. He didn't land on the turf. His knee hit the track, that hard surface. When he landed, it cut his knee open. By the time I got down to the end zone, they had bandaged it up. He was saying, 'No, no, no.' He thought that the bone was sticking out, career ending injury. When (Michigan was) on that last drive, he came up and said, If the game goes overtime, he's ready to go. You know, it never came to that decision. I wouldn't have done that at that point. But I think he was going to try to go. We might have to ease him into the week. He doesn't anticipate there being any problems for him for game time this week."

So since I play soccer, does that mean that my broken pinky will have me out for the season?

I would not assume that Floyd is ready to play on Saturday (although I pray that he can). SBT reports today that Floyd will practice this week but "won't do drills that require him to go to the ground." I guess that's to be expected if you are healing from 15 stitches, but one week sounds like a very short layoff for this kind of knee gash. If Floyd can't play, Tate better find his hands in time for the game.

I wouldn't worry about Tate.

Damn, if only I was 7 inches taller, and not so slow, and too bad I can't even keep a good grasp on the TV clicker, and if only I had some muscle tone, and if I still had some eligibility, and.....

15 stitiches?? sheesh....i dont see him being effective in the lineup.

If you had 15 stitches around your knee cap, do you think you could play football a week later? he would continue to rip open the stitches every time he played. I know what the articles are saying, I just cant see someone with 15 stitiches around their knee area playing 1 week later.
