Last week was Florida week. Must be focusing on programs of interest. I'm sure USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas, LSU etc will each have their week.

I'm sure that Jimmy will have a great prediction for our record next year.

Yup, I feel you. It might suck, but it's ND so I'm all over it, especially at this time of the year. Excellent idea by ESPN, in the sense that at least it gives them something different to talk about besides the same old mundane crap that they'd have to talk about at this time of the year. I'm sure they'll do the same with SC, Bitchagin, Texas, etc.

I just got DVR/HD (finally) last month, and DVR really does change the way you watch TV. Now I get to watch all 5 shows whereas in the past I wouldn't have. Next week should be nice...

i thought things were working great in my favor, i got changed to a different shift. so then i would be able to watch it, then i find out i am only on that shift for monday and tuesday, so i atleast get to see two episodes. so i can't complain too much. but by then maybe ESPN will have made me uninterested and i won't want to watch the other episodes, even though it is ND

I've been waiting for comments on the program.

I caught about 3 minutes of Thursday's program.

Brian Smith on tape was talking about the lack of experienced depth last year and how those younger players are now older and experienced.

Rod Gilmore thought Clausen would do well but that ND has to develop a running game to keep the pressure off Clausen. He was asked how many games Weis has to win to keep his job. "9 or 10" He was asked how many game ND will win. "9 or 10 - with a running game".

LACKLUSTER!!!!!!!!!!!

LACKLUSTER!!!!!!!!!!!

If this week of ND coverage is not proof that ND football is still the biggest national draw, then you are smoking something. What ESPN did this week is expand one show worth of material into a full week just to draw national coverage. There were little tidbits spread throughout the shows to try and keep people watching. All the info could have been put into ONE show. Further, the detail of the info was soooooo vanilla. It was like they pulled it from a generic press guide. I could have easily done a better synopsis.

22 minutes into yesterday's 30 minute show, nothing ND had been discussed. Strictly a marketing ploy to get more viewers. It has been pretty sad. You know what's even more sad? I'll watch again today just in case they have something real to say about ND.

This whole week has been a joke. I watched the Monday and Tuesday shows.

Everything I heard is what EVERYONE has been saying since the season ended: We need a line, we need a running game.

We need a line. We need a runnning game. ESPN needs to do some real research!!!!!!!!!! What they did was half ass. I could have given that info in my sleep.

So are you telling me, my 3 minutes of watching caught the salient points?

There was not one thing they said the entire week that I did not already know. NOT ONE!!!! It makes you wonder what really does ESPN bring to the table on some of these shows. I am sure that ND is not the only school this spring that they busted out with the generic media guide info. The only thing they had of their own was their lousy ass opinions which were about as predictable as the sun rising in the east. I mean think about what they said.
1. ND has a soft schedule. DUHHHHHH
2. USC will be the judgement game. OMG shocking.
3. CW better win this year. You are kidding, I thougt they would give him another 4 years of 6-7 wins!!!!
4. JC will look real good if the running game works. Balanced offense is important??????
5. We have all our offense returning. OMG, i thought they graduated after the soph year???
6. Most talented unit is the secondary. OK, this one I really did not know. I mean McCarthy, leading tackler and three 4 star returning CB's who the NFL covit and finally a safety in H. Smith who runs like a deer. I was thinking this was our weak spot and the kicking game would be the strength?????????

Thanks, jogged my ESPN in one ear and out the other mind.
  • I did hear soft schedule, hence Gimore's 9-10 wins.
  • They showed a graphic of the 100 OL Starts and I think 44 Starts by the DLs and 55 Starts by the Secondary. I've got a feeling those numbers come from the ND Media Handout for the Spring Game.
