I really hate that we use the opponents ref crews....we just can't catch a break....deserved or not.

yeah, really....what does Sharpley's stats have to do with the part of your post I replied to (i.e. people calling for Clausen to be benched after only one drive)?

If you look back on this thread................after Sharpley came in and led the TD drive, quite a few people were saying, "Well, that does it.........Sharpley is your starter."

Sharp gets rid of the ball. Gets more receivers involved. Receivers get more excited about the game. Results happen.

Playcalling is ATROCIOUS.

Whether or not the running game is working, you still run the ball to keep the defense honest. That allows the play-action passes to work. That keeps the defense on its heels rather than able to confidently charge and make the line look bad. This is an inept offensive system.

Commercials are too damn long. I went and bought groceries and made it back for the next series. Then I went and washed the car. And the neighbor's car. And made it back for the next series.

Linebackers and special teams still a problem.

Where the hell is Crum?

Play-action doesn't "work", when you are averaging 1.3 yards per carry.

ND was down only 6 points, but playcalling made it look like they were down 50. Why did ND get so desperate so soon?

So this current crap works? How many points has the offense scored all year?

I have already told you that you don't know what you are talking about.

I mean it.

The difference here is that I am not claiming that what they are doing is working.

You want them to run more, when they are averaging 1.3 yards per carry, so that they can set up the play-action pass, but I don't know what I am talking about? You're a moron, Wham. I'm done talking to you.

Ah, I read ya wrong....I thought you were saying that people were calling for Clausen's head for sucking after one drive...not after Sharpley had one good drive after replacing Clausen. Chalk that one up to a few Dogfish Head beers! My bad. :)

At this point, I think you start Sharpley next week. Not because Clausen has been horrible. He's played about like you would expect a Freshman QB to play. But you are going to have to move the ball against USC, to have a chance to win the game. Maybe Sharpley throws a bad pick at a crucial time, maybe he doesn't. But, as of now, I think you can still have a crucial time, late in the game, with Sharpley. I'm not sure the game won't be over at the half, with Clausen. But this is not all Clausen's fault. He has NO running game to take the heat off of him. And his receivers are fairly average. Not bad, but nothing special either.

Sharpley should start next week but honestly he didn't look good at all besides a couple of plays after his 1st drive. He has a live arm, the players respond to him better currently, and he gives the offense a little better chance to move the ball at this point. He has incredibly terrible accuracy, and he made just as many dumb throws as JC in half the time. If Clausen had a full arm we might have a QB battle, but next week Sharpley deserves the start. If Sharpley becomes consistent,a dn cuts down on the dumb throws we may have somewhat of a shot next week if Sanchez plays.

Give Sharpley the first team reps in practice

Give Sharpley the first team reps in practice

I would like to see what Evan can do if he were to get all the first team reps during the week. The team needs a boost to morale and they already know what Clausen can and can't do. I think they will have some hope with Sharpley leading them into battle. Also the running game (as few times as they tried) is more effective when Evan is in there. He can strecth the field and JC hasn't. When JC is in there the D stuffs 8 in the box. JC hasn't made good quick reads. I think Evan can burn a D that tries that. Evan also seems faster on his feet and can make plays where Clausen has been good at throwing the ball out of bounds. I would rather have 275 yards and 2 interceptions than 100 yards and one interception. Clausen can learn from the sidelines (maybe for 2 years).
