Yeah, I've never been a big fan. He was a good receiver his freshman year, but he still had the dropsies. And he had no competition for the job. Tate could only run the go, Parish was too slow, West was injury prone, and Floyd was still in h.s. Last year, tate worked his ass off and became an All-American candidate, and Floyd showed up and proved he belonged. Meanwhile, Kamara showed up so fat and out of shape that he was given a lineman's jersey #. How embarrassing is that???
I don't blame people for backing the kid. I could be wrong here. I hope I am. But last year, he had 'manos de piedra' (hands of stone). He cost JC at least 3-4 picks. Balls thrown right to him would bounce off of him and into a defender's arms. And what kills me about him, is that he doesn't attack the ball a la Tate and Floyd. W/ Tate, any 50-50 ball is either his or it's on the floor. He simply doesn't allow his man to pick the ball off. I remember one play, I believe against MI St, JC threw a beautiful fade to Kamara, his 6'5" stud, and Kamara got his hands on the ball, only to let the DB outmuscle him for the ball. I wanted to kill someone.
I hope you guys are right about Kamara. But personally, i have my endzone guys: tate, who can outjump and outfight anyone for the ball, and Floyd, who can position himself perfectly for any fade. Adding Kamara would be great, and I hope his newfound work ethic pays off...
