SI.com - Writers - Arash Markazi: 11-year-old QB growing up fast - Sunday September 30, 2007 3:18AM

David Sills is being hailed as one of the greatest quarterback prospects ever.

If you haven't heard of him yet, it's understandable. He just turned 11.

"I know he's young but there's always an exception. He's the exception," says Steve Clarkson, who runs the Air 7 Quarterback University, a national camp for quarterbacks. "By no means would I recommend this for ten-year olds, but he's a special case."

Is it true that Urbie already offered him?

(who was the guy who committed to wake forest in middle school about, oh, 10 years ago?)

Anyone know if the Montana kid is coming on as a walk-on, or if Charlie now will designate one of his schollies for him since we lost a couple players? Also, what about the other QB/WR, I forget his name, but he is really interested in us eversince DJ left.

This is stupid. Can you imagine what the ego on this kid is going to be if colleges are recruiting him at age 11? What's next, the NFL at 16? Retirement at 25? Perhaps he'll get into the Hall of Fame and start his illustrious coaching career at 27. Then he'll die at 34. Poor kid.

Why don't we let him grow up first?

Thanks, that's crazy to extend a scholarship to a middle school kid. Obviously it didn't work out for WF.

This takes me back to Damon Bailey in basketball...Bobby Knight was recruiting him in middle school and he was a good college player, but not really any kind of "star"
