Guys, am I missing something? No one outside of Lou Holtz is picking us to win. I know we are coming off a nightmarish season. I know we didnt look impressive in the first 3 quarters against SDSU. I know Michigan has a solid defense. But is it so far fetched we could win this game? I just dont understand why no one is picking us, besides anti-ND bias. I think it will be close, I think the weather will play a part. I'm not making a call, I'll just say first team to 17 wins.

I agree. I have listened to sports radio from the Big guys to the local am's. Nobody is giving the Irish a chance and rightfully so, I don't blame them. We have given them no fire power to say otherwise. All say the game is going to be close and Michigan has what it needs to pull off the win. I do believe we have the better offense, on paper, and we should be able to get in a couple of times. Our defense and special teams will be the decider in this game IMO. Good luck Bro.

I would suppose they are basing their decisions on results of last year which is ridiculous. If they are, they need to look how close SDSU played other teams in the past 4 years, including the Big 10. But, it is what it is. CW knows what is on the line and with him giving up the play calling and putting his status on the line, things should look better today. I just hope the defense plays as well as it did last weekend. This will be the key as I said earlier. Back to your question, Michigan has a fair ball-team. I think we have the better one, of course. The critics and experts, like Mark May have different opinions. I will say this last thing though, the Irish just need to shut them the hell up!!!!

Michigan had 220 yards in 2 games. We have 109 in one game and that includes the botched FG that was counted as an 8 yard loss for Maust. Strictly looking at the numbers, they have had no more success than we have.

I can't wait for this game. One of my roommates is a huge Michigan fan (living with 4 other O$U fans) so we have to stick together but this week has been pretty ugly between us. We have a bet going on. If scUM wins i have to were a scUM jersey next saterday all day and if the Irish win he has to wear a ND jersey, but since we are both in college we have to wear them to every party we go to next saturday.

I'm not being negative here but it may sound that way... I 've got to prepare myself for a loss every week at this point b/c ND games are seriously efffecting my life in ways they shouldn't... I was pretty ugly to be around last week in the ACamper household

so... here's my ready for the wrold stance

I am just hoping we can beat Purdue after going 1-2.... that's the way I am approaching it... after the last two years it's the only way I can approach a ND game... I am sick of tricking myself into believing we can win and then having my whole weekend ruined... not because we lose but because we look horrible doing so.

so that's my honest frame of mind... AND if we finally show up and play to our talent level, which HAS GO TO happen sometime... I'll have the best weekend in a long while... if we get smoked, eh I expected it... move on

ACamp, sorry to hear that you can't get up for a game anymore. Like you said hopefully Notre Dame will come out firing on all cylinders.

I always believe the Irish are going to win. If they don't win it's tough to deal with but then I think there's always next Saturday.

The weather in South Bend reminds me of a terrible day two years ago in East Lansing. The rain was pouring this morning, but cleared up for the short time Lou Holtz's statue was being dedicated. We will win this game.

In other news. If White Field is flooded and you are still looking for parking spots, I heard that Holy Cross College to the west of campus sells parking spots as does St. Mary's and St. Joe's High School. The walk from those places is akin to the walk to White field, and in a lot of cases shorter.
