I didnt really see much at all about the way Michigan played yesterday in their home opener versus Utah. My opinion is simply this: EXACTLY what I knew would happen. Inexperience all the way around the ball. Their defense actually stunk too although they did look a little better in the 2nd half. If it werent for utah's 4 turnovers and stupid mental mistakes and EVERTYthing they did wrong this should have been a blowout.

If Michigan plays like this against us?????? We should beat the hell out of them easily. I dont fear Michigan at all. They just plain STUNK! thoughts???

Utah had like 15 penalties too. It shouldn't have been near as close as it was.

The score should have been like 34 to 10 at least. 2 junk touchdowns that were given to them. I'm telling you if they play like this against us we SHOULD win pretty easily.

If we play a perfect game we should win by 3+ TD's. I dont expect to play a perfect game though. I will go with 24-7 or 27-14. We atleast win by 2 scores...


Seriously, their offense was incapable, the defense was nothing special. Utah gave them 2 touchdowns because of turnovers and penalties. And JMO, I know Utah is good and all, but I think we are better than Utah. Plus, our game is at home.

slow down folks. remember that was week 1. they have a couple weeks and an easier opponent from now until the time they play ND.

but yes, the 137 yards in penalties, turnovers deep in Utah territory and Utah running the prevent Offense in the second half kept them in this game. the first half stats of something like Utah's 240 yds vs MI's 92 yds of offense are telling.

I thought michigan did as evryone expected they would. They will get a little better as the season progresses but until they get the right QB they will never be a major threat. I wont make any score predictions on our game with them just yet although it does seem like we definatly have an advantage. We will all know a lot more after sdsu.

Agreed. As much as Charlie wants to put last year behind them, it would be a horrible mistake to forget about it completely. Lessons are learned during failure. If we win 2 games and forget about it, I'll be very upset.

Okay I give in... I hope we blow out every opponent... 50 - 0 against USC, 60 - 0 against Michigan, 100 - 3 against SD State... hope and reality are two different animals... in the end twelve one point wins is awesome... winning games and not margin of victory is the bottom line. I have been watching ND games for 45 years... we ALLWAYS get our opponents best effort... it makes a teams season to beat ND... we will allways have a great big bullseye on our back... for me winning each game... keeping our team injury free and getting our reserves playing time is what matters.

If we hang 50 on anybody, I'll be impressed. New OC, inexprienced o-line, underclassmen at all skill positions. I'm not trying to be negative, but it's not realistic to think we're going to blow everyone out before we play even one game.

Exactly. We really don't know what ND has yet. Let's keep our feet on the ground and hope ND looks decent against SDSU. (Yes ND will win but I'm anxious to see how ND look)

lets not forget that utah has a pretty darn good team. the qb that played in the second half threw some pretty good balls and they had some open receivers that just missed. i dont think this michigan team is terrible and they will surely be better when we play them than they were last week.

i agree lets see how things go against sdsu before we get too worried about how much um stinks or doesnt stink.

Michigan is not a bad team but there talent level at the skilled positions is waaaay down this season and they are very beatable for Irish.
