We have to get this kid. Staff put in so much effort.
For sure. It'd be a kick in the dick not to land him. He's likely top 2 player to land in offense.
12 personnel 90%of the time if he and Premer are both healthy.

I don’t follow

There was some smoke that if they missed on Brock Williams, UGA would be all in on Dollar. Brock is trending towards Texas recently and Dollar visited UGA this past weekend and twice this spring, I believe.

He’s also visited ND just as much. ND beat writers as well as some national ones believe ND to be in the lead.

Would be great news, expanding the board at TE would be a bummer after the way things seemed early in the cycle

Only leg Georgia has to stand on is they had Brock Bowers (quite an outlier from what they've produced recently) When it comes to TE development and putting dudes in the league, there's really no one that matches up currently with ND

As I said, it's obvious what the plan was / is. Secure Titus Hawk now, then even if you lose Dollar to Georgia, you keep recruiting him until the bitter end of the cycle. If he sticks with Georgia, you still got a good TE prospect. If he flips to ND you get both of them.

Georgia has done a really good job at recruiting Dollar into a TE room that isn't nearly as deep as Notre Dame's currently is. Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if despite being notoriously stingy with NIL among the major programs, Georgia outbid ND here, largely due to the fact that ND has to spend it's funds elsewhere in this cycle with as many elite OL and DL on the board, and the cost of some of the WRs they're after. It may have simply reached the point where the ND staff had to say "we can't pay that and still sign the likes of Champ Monds, Julius Jones Jr, Layton Von Brandt, Abraham Sesay, David Folorunsho, Marcus Fakatou, Aidan O'Neil, Xavier Hasan, Ace Alston, etc."

I'm not going to pretend that I have the inside scoop here, but I know for certain that I never counted Georgia out. They're selling Dollar on being used exactly how they used Brock Bowers and potentially starting from day 1. That combined with a high end NIL offer is highly attractive.

Georgia also used their tight ends in creative ways during the spring game which I’m sure he noticed. We aren’t handing the ball off to our tight ends like they (allegedly ) are.

If it was over, Fong would spoil it and put in a prediction.

This means he’s guessing.

-Every starting tight end at Notre Dame has been drafted for over 20+ years.
-Elite education
-Consistent CFP contender
-Top level NIL

Imagine saying no thanks to that lol.

Not a priority for the majority amount of athletes out there...

To be fair, if we really are focused on spending money on positions we value and have a need at, tight end is far down the list.

We’ve been told Denbrock wants to deprioritize tight ends for WRs, and only 18% of our 2025 receptions went there way, almost all to Eli due to injuries. 18% is the lowest rate in at least a decade (probably more).

We also got a 5 star and another 4 star at TE in the class of 2026. Which followed a fringe top 100 recruit in James Flanigan in 2025.

In light of this you can definitely make the argument that we should just spend the money elsewhere this cycle. That being said, it certainly seems like they wanted one of Driver or Dollar.
