Driskall said we have 2 silents. Made it sound like it is offensive guys

My guess would be Cade Cooper and Layton Von Brandt if they're both on offense.

I think Cooper potentially committed silently back in early April and Von Brandt committed on last weekend's visit.

Just a guess.

Surprised if one isn't Champ with all the smoke, but those two are right there. Von Brandt's comments sure seemed telling.

Wonderful Monds has to be one of them

One thing he did note is that some are committing but taking visits because schools are paying them to visit. If i had to take a guess-Cade Cooper. I also thinks Monds is committed. Can’t rule out Layton or the Illinois OL.

I think if accurate it is Monds and Julius Jones Jr

I’m side-eye the Jones Jr counts because being a silent for multiple months isn’t being a committed. But that’s the vibe I got post visit with the talk on him.

Monds is definitely one of them, duh... I think of him as already known to be in the class, which he's obviously not. That's my bad.

Monds + Von Brandt or Cooper. Julius Jones Jr would be the dark horse IMO.

A new DE that we are pushing for. Teammates with Gamble and Jones Jr.

Really Interesting prospect.

- great measurables / frame
- plays at a premier program
- super productive: led aquinas in sacks (13), TFLs (24), Hurries (33) and tackles (155) in 2025
- Is rated top 100 on both rivals and 247
- Is the son of Pro Bowl DL Justin Smith

Yet despite this, his only premier offers are ND and OSU, and ND allegedly isn’t pushing hard. None of the Florida Big 3 have offered.

I also don’t see a top 100 DE on film, but I do see a guy who can be a very productive SDE once he gets up to 275+ at 6’6” with his motor.

Great article with Kyle Kelly interviewing Fakatou's parents today. Didn't realize he grew up in Alaska, he wants a smaller college campus because of that. Not sure how Texas and OSU square with that logic. Mom has never been on campus but will be this weekend. I get the feeling that once that happens and they get to spend quality time with Partridge, things will get interesting once again.

Never been to Texas' campus, but Ohio ST definitely doesn't fit the small campus bill. You can park on campus and then have to take a bus to get to class. Granted most football players rarely set foot on campus and do their "work" online.

You don't see a top 100 DE or PLAYER?

Does the article mention where in Alaska, by chance? Assuming Anchorage. Can't find anything with a google search.

Player - I think hes a fringe 4 star.

Besides just potentially being overrated by the services, I wonder if Missouri (Mizzou legacy) has established a high bidding price that schools don’t think is worth it to match compared to other players

Missouri tends to like a few big splashes in an otherwise mediocre recruiting class.

Not sure about tax but in state high school players can start earning right away if they commit to an in state school. So wouldn’t apply to Smith but historically helped them with Burden and a few others

There are different areas of Alaska? I assumed it was just like north of the wall in Game of Thrones :)
Haha! Yeah, so many unique areas of the state. I lived in Sitka (twice), which is on an island in a rainforest across from a volcano. Like a cold Seattle. Very different feel from Anchorage.

There's the part with snow and there's the part with ice. The icy part thinks the people from the snowy part are too soft, and the snowy part thinks the people from the icy part are smooth but slippery. It's a complicated social dynamic.
