I used to pretend I was trying out for his Irish team when we were getting thrashed in basic training. Lou motivated me without even knowing.
RIP

Should wear the ‘88 shoulder pads for a game, tooSaw someone post we should wear the 88 jerseys for a game this year. We should absolutely do it for Miami
You lucky dude.I had the pleasure of having dinner with Lou on multiple occasions, thanks to a close mutual friend. It was always at our friends house. Nothing fancy, just casual dinners. I had never met Lou before but he treated me like he had known me since I was a kid. I never met a more quick witted human. The thing that always stuck out to me is that he always remembered me and treated me like I mattered. Which is crazy to me because this man had met and was in constant communication with more people in one year that I have been in my lifetime.
RIP to not only the greatest ND coach of my lifetime but to one of the greatest people I have ever had the honor of meeting.
You lucky dude.
They always left their table scraps on the back door steps for me when dinner was overIt's less exciting when you realize "dinner with lou at a friend's house" means watching Marcus have dinner with Lou through binoculars.
