Anyone who hears what's happening in the Middle East and wishes they had a better understanding how these countries, terrorist groups and key figureheads are related, this is an excellent starting point. I haven't ready anything related to this so I can say, without hesitation, this book is a tour-de-force of historical changes in the region.
I was in the dark about the interrelations of Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and Israel. I did not appreciate the history of nuclear development and acceleration in the middle east, nor which countries contributed these pursuits.
England, Russia, France, Germany & the US play minor roles in the books with some additional countries mentioned at various points. Many leaders & figureheads who are known worldwide show up in the story.
A friend of mine is going to grab it from the library when I return it but I'm telling everyone to read the book. It's a captivating page-turner and it was incredibly illuminating.
One of the better recommendations I've received. Thanks
