This looks to be Trump threatening with major actions, so they can come to an agreement on what Trump is really wiling to settle for. That's been his go to move since his first term. Let's say we end up with Greenland. Does it become the 51st state or become a U.S. territory like Puerto Rico?

That certainly could be true, and I understand the usefulness of tactics like this at certain times, but burning up a lot of goodwill between the US and allies that have bled with us in wars doesn’t seem like the best way to go about it.

Instead, it would make more sense to present to Denmark and NATO the importance of Greenland militarily and then sign a deal that allows for mineral rights in exchange for boosting our defense capabilities there.

However, I really do think that the billionaires (Bezos and Gates included) are the main drivers of this because they want to build “freedom cities” there and want to be able to have zero regulation and full access. I think the national security stance is a front for all of this.

I'm also wondering if some of these recent remarks is to distract from what's about to occur in Iran.

I agree. But he's just being so clumsy about this. Even if you are determined to get Greenland by any means necessary, you don't involve other countries. You simply state that this is a matter about Greenland between the United States and Denmark. Like the Cypress Crisis in 1974, we expect other nations, inside and outside of Europe, to stay out of it until its resolution. While we do not expect anything as serious as a hot war, which was engaged by NATO members Turkey and Greece, this is likewise an internal issue. There is no article 5 risk as there is no external NATO threats to either country. There is precedent for disputes such as these.

That's it. Don't tariff the 8 countries. Now you ARE including them. Don't respond to their public statements or demands. Engage in all other affairs. The position should be France, Germany, etc. has no business in this dispute over a North American colony and that the days of Europe having colonies in North America are over.

Agree, I’ve said before this is not the way to go about this.

She sucks and probably would have sucked, but she wouldn’t be trying to take over Greenland and ruin alliances like a dick.

But sure, let’s deflect to something from 9 years ago while Trump acts a fool.
We're not opening our borders, writing blank checks, signing every meaningless agreement, and shitting our pants anymore. Sorry for your loss.

Again. Clinton sucks. No argument from me, but keep the talking points up.

Blank checks? Yeah because our budget is balanced, and Trump TOTALLY isn’t promising money we don’t have everywhere.

I recall your side being very upset about us no longer funding drag shows in Ecuador, Gender-affirming care in Guatemala, and other vital Biden interests.

The worst thing for libertarian principles is the Libertarian party. Reframe as smaller government and we might be on to something.
