He’s probably the best DL in the portal. Maybe the #1 overall player
Watch him sign then medically retire before fall camp ala KK Smith the elder

Certainly among the only 1 legged players.
They forgot to tell you that the scorched earth part is in reference to the self-immolation of ND's own roster. It's a revenge tour mired in masochism. While Minnesota is busy rowing the boats to .500 record, ND is busy burning the rowing team's boats to heat the practice facility so that they can save some heating money to pay the custodial staff to keep working. This revenge tour/scorched earth is going exactly how I'd expect after being an ND fan for 40 years. Miss the playoffs, lose some of your best players, whiff in the portal and head into the following season with a shittier team....
CLASSIC ND
My uncle is an Usher, they pulled his one free football ticket next year and his last pay check bounced. They forgot to tell you that the scorched earth part is in reference to the self-immolation of ND's own roster. Hard times in South Bend. They're going to have to fire the chefs soon and bring back the dreaded food carts!
If he's no longer going to be busy, can he play defensive tackle? Asking for a friend. My uncle is an Usher, they pulled his one free football ticket next year and his last pay check bounced.
Where are ND’s wildly successful entrepreneurs?Heck of a player. He has no achilles, but Portnoy and company might just buy him for Michigan to keep him away from ND. The same is true if the Crumbl cookie people out at BYU lol.
Speaking as a subway alum, maybe the school needs to ship some honorary degrees to the financial unicorns in the greater diaspora of ND supporters. Having said that, as a DePaul grad I acknowledge I will never truly understand what makes ND special for the kids, and I am sure honorary degrees are anathema.Where are ND’s wildly successful entrepreneurs?
This might be a new disadvantage to being a small school. Sure we produce doctors/lawyers/priests/CFOs at a higher clip, but producing unicorn startup founders is just a numbers game and not really a quality of school thing.
I don’t even know who that would be though. Who is the most prominent deep pocketed ND supporter? Taylor Swift since her brother went there and she’s super into football now?Speaking as a subway alum, maybe the school needs to ship some honorary degrees to the financial unicorns in the greater diaspora of ND supporters. Millionaires, sure.Ummm I definitely do not think a lack of millionaires is any issue for Notre Dame.
FWIW apparently the Crumbl guy isn’t even the big BYU donor. He just got publicity because it’s a brand people know
Guys like that won't sign quickly. They're what I call "microwave goods". They sit in the portal for a while, with the birds pecking away at them... Just before they rot and their valuation is virtually nothing, ND rolls in, throws the microwave on power level high and blasts some life into those leftovers.
Delicious.... Sort of.
So if I step back for a minute, knowing that we're talking Pete B., NBC contract, plenty of NIL/Collective funding, an up and coming savvy MMFF, a smart, experienced and well paid talent Dir and GM, there's no way ND and staff are just sitting around waiting for big time TP entrants to show up on campus and doing nothing.
I'm just starting to understand (at least from what I can see) that ND actually has a strategy but is being tight-lipped about it with all kinds of media pundit and player agent misinformation and distraction going on while in reality, the staff is ID'ing the 80% at 50% price targets (even maybe "tampering" / feeling out very covertly key targets more or less in this 80/50 category) while simultaneously seemingly playing the big boy portal acquisition game but only to see 1) if they can get a big name to come aboard for what ND is actually willing to pay and 2) maybe to create a buzz that all the top big time targets are coming to campus to check out ND as a potential transfer destination whereas maybe in reality actually getting most of these top targets is really not the main end point of their strategy and we help to bid up the prices that the IUs, TTUs, OK States, and ASUs have to pay to get these top targets.
I'm down with that if it works out and we bring in a mix of a few top guys like Daley but with a lot of decent DL and a few WRs who can help provide depth.
I can't think of anything else being the strategy if ND has say $6-7 mill. in allotted TP market funds, the ND Brand, and a smart and experienced staff. MMFF and that staff can't be that inept and unprepared, especially when there was no bowl game this year. Come on.
Singer confirmed that a good amount of players did make it to campus for the evening, with their visits officially beginning tomorrow.
Thompson, Daley, Atkinson, Townsend & Gilliam.

From a football standpoint, how can you not be somewhat disappointed at the first wave here. The lack of urgency to start in the portal is the same attitude we saw them play against Miami on the field. You're literally on borrowed time with Freeman and you're not going to swing for the fences is crazy.Singer confirmed that a good amount of players did make it to campus for the evening, with their visits officially beginning tomorrow.

I mean, we're not on "borrowed time", and ND is hosting a dude who had 11.5 sacks last year. From a football standpoint, how can you not be somewhat disappointed at the first wave here. Yes I believe so, ISD feels similarly, apparently hes up close to 300 lbs. ISD was also talking about goog things they have heard about Davion DixonDoes us going after Henry Daley point to Burgess being inside full time if we get him?
If I had to guess, this what it could possibly look like:Say ND only gets Gilliam at DT, at least one that’s starting quality, but gets JHD. What does the 4 man front look like? Do you continue to beef up Bryce Young who’s already over 280 and slide him to the interior or just have an elite 3 man rotation playing end? Gilliam and Hughes or Burgess on the interior?
If I had to guess, this what it could possibly look like:
DE: Traore, JHD, Bryce Young
DT: Gilliam, Hughes, Burgess, Onye, Young maybe taking a couple snaps at DT as well, I think ND will maximize his versatility
Didn’t realize Atkinson was the Rolesville (NC) QB:
Teammates with Griffin-Haynes in the 26 class and Amir Brown and Marquis Bryant in the 27 class. So they are very familiar with his HS staff. Destined to choose elsewhere right when ND has momentum.

And wetness of bedsMF running a tight ship when it comes to info getting out certainly raises the anxiety level of many on this board.
