Not sure he is the best available, but definitely need to bring in 1 portal kicker AND open up competition for the best soccer players to try out.
Just depends on who becomes available. All the other ones who're expected to enter the portal aren't (or weren't) starting kickers on their teams.

I know MF and company will make sure these kicker woes don't happen ever again.

Could see us making an offer for this guy:

K Gianni Spetic from Memphis. 15-20 in FG this year. 4-5 from 50+.

Went to HS at Notre Dame Cathedral School in Ohio.
I agree. His high school is not affiliated with Holy Cross, but rather the Sisters of Notre Dame which originated in the Cleveland Area. Granted hopefully he grew up a ND fan, because I assume OSU will be looking for a kicker as well.

Prister did confirm in the thread there is mutual interest. Top portal TE.

Probably UCLA but would be a nice compliment to the current room. Tiny guy, should be open to sharing carries if he goes P4 IMO.

No idea if he is accurate or not.

I would love for ND to pick up "The Tokyo Toe!"

https://hawaiiathletics.com/feature/TokyoToe

40 of 40 extra points made
27 of 29 FGs made (started the season 25 of 25 made); 52-yd FG was his longest

Not sure he would walk away from Univ. of Hawaii which gave him his opportunity, but man, what a kicker and what glory he would have at ND!

I think the foreign language requirement would be waived in his class 100%...lol

Yes, Imagine having an open tryout of soccer players and finding a future HOF kicker.

Is he even in the portal?

No, so very wishful thinking. There would need to be serious tampering/convincing him to come to ND for your remaining two years of eligibility so that you can gain kicker glory and position yourself for the NFL by playing for the most storied program in CFB.

Why do people think soccer players are clamoring to play football? Or that it's as simple as just putting on pads and a helmet because kicking is kicking? Aubrey only moved to it because his soccer career was over, and it took him 3 years of training to make the switch.

FWIW. Canion did not play today but reporters maintained prior it is not a portal thing.

But he would fit nice and snug in South Bend if he wanted to revisit that commitment….

I'm sure there will be at least a handful of GT players entering the portal tomorrow with their bowl game out of the way.

I don't think people think that but it's been dozens os former soccer players to make the switch, hell 3 guys I played with made the switch and 2 made it Pro. Then, a guy like Aubrey goes from being a Software Engineer to a All-Pro Kicker in 30 months doesn't hurt the case.

Yes but also, he needs to finish his senior year of high school and attend prom. I think he's great as well but maybe pump the brakes just a tad? Hopefully he has a seamless transition.
Here is Mayer's freshman stats: 42 rec, 450 yds, 2 TDs and this was with Ian Book.

Book was a damn good QB for ND, but imagine if Mayer had a passing QB like Clausen or Carr.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Premer becomes ND's starting TE.
