Possible unpopular take, but I for one think it was a brave and courageous decision by the committee to give two G5 teams a spot over Notre Dame.

It’s just such an indictment for the CFP that the most interesting games in the afternoon and night time slots are FCS games.
Not saying you're wrong, but I'll say last year's first round state wasn't much better.

We blew out Indiana, Penn State blew out SMU and Ohio State blew out Tennessee.

Only game that was relatively close was Texas-Clemson.

I agree. It’s a commentary on the format regardless of year, not just this years catastrophe.

Right, except you left out the rest of your post where you were being dismissive and condescending by implying that this issue somehow disappeared in the 1950’s.

Of course you didn’t experience the same things as a bunch of black dudes and a Hispanic dudes in the South because…you’re white. So yeah, race does factor into this.

Why the fuck would the police suddenly appear and someone tell a group of black people “we don’t serve people like you” right from the jump? Coincidence?
I'm just going to be blunt and honest with you. I don't believe your story happened the way you say and probably not at all. It's much too conveniently close to a narrative you often push, to several stories of overt racial abuse that turn out to be fabricated, and none of my black friends have ever claimed any experience close to that despite spending decades in the South as opposedto the people in your story just passing through. That it happened the way you describe or at all seems incredibly unlikely and about as plausible as Jussie's MAGA hat and bleach story, and given your tendency to view everything through a racial prism, im going to call bs.

Oh yeah.

I don’t believe you have any black friends. Lol.

Believe what you want. It wasn’t my story it was what was relayed to me by my brother and he wouldn’t have any reason to lie to me. He moved to Atlanta when his good friend Kenji moved out there from Oakland. They literally lived in the South.

I get it, you’re a white southern dude who thinks overt racism ceased to exist in the south in 1970 or whatever and have to defend the Souths honor even when it revolves around a stupid internet joke. Talk about “thou doth protest too much”.

Anyhow, what stories of racial abuse that were fabricated have I pushed?

I drove with my brother from Huntington Beach to Atalanta when he moved back there after being back in Cali for a bit. Took about 36 hours basically non stop. We left HB around 10 pm, ate breakfast in El Paso and dinner at a Hooters in Dallas Fort Worth. Made it to the ATL around noon that following day. There was a bar in Buckhead that had lobsters in one of those claw games and if you caught one they’d cook it for you. That was nice. Lol.

As to the chew in the sink at a bar in Bakersfield, my older brother spit out his dip (Copenhagen) in the sink and didn’t clean it up. Locals were understandably pissed.

Glad I’ll never watch Jeremiah Love play in a ND uniform again so we can let in a couple of welfare teams.

Announcers just stated that NFL teams will like Dinty Moore's "emotional intelligence." Where the hell was all this emotional intelligence when he was committed to ND?

Btw, do we think he'll declare for the draft in January?

I do not believe we should have any autobids, but at the same time, this is exactly what they all deserve because the autobid system is a welfare system to enrich the conferences that was set up with the idea in mind that 5 power conferences would always get in. I have no ill will towards Tulane and JMU, they abided by the rules.

I will never, ever let ESPN, the SEC, the ACC, and the committee off the hook for their screwjob with the last two rankings. They deserve infinte scorn for that.

There really needs to be some sort of threshold for a G5 school to qualify for an automatic spot (top 15 end of year AP ranking).

Could require literally one P4 win to get JMU out. Tulane did beat Northwestern and Duke to be fair

The reason this format exists is because the 5 power conferences at the time all wanted a guaranteed payout. Everyone whining about the G5 should blame their own conference commissioner.

I don’t see how anyone can disagree that the P4 and G5 or 6 need to be two separate divisions. Occasional upsets aside, there will never really be any competition in a playoff, so what are we doing? Let’s just split them into two divisions as it should be. It’s dumb that we are still pretending.

Been saying that for years.

1. ND didn't get left out for these G5 teams, ND got left out for Bama.
2. Blowouts happen all the friggin time in the playoffs. Always have. And some of those have come at ND's expense, sooo...

Nobody said they were. But g5 teams ARE taking up spots that teams who COULD ACTUALLY COMPETE would have had otherwise. They cannot win. So why are are we pretending they should have a seat at the table? They shouldn’t. It’s a little parlor game that gets played so they (ESPN, the CFP people, NCAA, whomever) can say those teams have a chance. But they do not, no matter how much anyone pretends they do.

So let’s cut out the bullshit and just have two separate divisions.
