Oof. I know Mike is a Pitt guy, but man, aim higher. Signed, a Packers fan.

I appreciated all he did in Green Bay, but that dude lost his touch by the end. And then the failed Dallas experiment. Why would you want that for your Steelers?
You can't fault him for Dallas as long as the geriatric is calling the shots.

Marcus doesn’t seem like a McVey type NFL HC (a playbook guru). His big traits in terms of team play includes sneaky special teams play which doesn’t seem like a thing in the L.

some noise Jeff Hafley (packers dc, ex BC HC) will be a heavy favourite for the NY Giants job

II pod today: O’Malley talked with some people who would know, and majority of them think Freeman is gone to the NFL after 2026.

Because the beat hates ND and resents the fans. I don't listen to any of those clowns. And maybe MF does leave after this upcoming season, but zero chance anyone actually knows what Freeman is going to do 12 months from now.
Or even what jobs will be open? Ya know, that minor detail necessary to decide between staying or going?

Right. I don't want to lose him at all, but it would be at least some consolation if he went to a team like the Eagles or the Chiefs (dislike both, but they're well run organizations that will set him up to succeed) vs. going to some perennial tire fire like the Browns or the Raiders.

I feel like this is why some of these guys on the beat get zero respect. How could you even know what jobs would be open a year from now and if they'd have interest in a college coach much less Freeman?

He said they were taking bets at dinner. So while he did say it would be people who would know it’s not like he was reporting this would happen. It was I said X years, he said Y years, they said after 2026 would be their bet.

To be that confident you would have to like parlay ND to make the 2026 CFP with John Harbaugh retires or some shit

I am so blown away by the ego on these coaches (not Freeman) who think they can be successful NFL head coaches because they were successful at the college level.

All the history and experience says no, and it isn't close.
