If anything, I think the DL job would be split to Interior and Edge (or some other naming convention) and those linebackers with rush ability would just cross-train with the Edge coach.I wonder if this would be a position that gets the coaching assignments split a bit in the future. Like a OLB/EDGE combo and ILB - seeing as how we only base 2 LB and do use players listed as LB in an edge role in situations. Gives you 3 full assistants for the front 6 or 7 (sorry)

This was Ash's DC and LB coach at Rutgers in 2019. He's an analyst at ND now.
He's in his mid 50s. Been around a lot of Power 4 programs. Hasn't stayed in one place very long. He coached with Ash at Wisconsin too.“Sure grandpa, let’s get you to bed”
