I honestly don’t understand the constant analysis and updates of the odds. The only way that has any bearing is if you really believe that there are leaks coming out of the committee mid game no less
There’s definitely leaks which is why the committee is a flawed concept (among 100 other reasons), shown by how odds makers knew Bama would jump ND 2 days before the last CFP rankings release.

Bama should have never moved up last week. They are not good. Incredible malpractice by the committee
They were trying to protect them but Bama has to at least bother to show up. If UGA pours it on not even Sankey and Finebaum may be able to save them. Part of the conundrum they put themselves in on ESPN campaigning for Miami as a playoff team for the last 5 weeks is that is in the minds of people now and Bama is showing their ass right now.

Look at the Alabama odds right before Tuesday. There are obviously leaks.

You never know…. Alabama could have a few “gutsy” plays in them to keep them ahead of Notre Dame.

You know Reese, we didn’t drop Bama in the rankings because late in the 4th quarter down by multiple scores with no chance of winning, Kalen went for it on 4th and 1 And that’s really gutsy. It showed the heart of an SEC team.

Bama and BYU drop out. ND and Miami in. Miami jumps us and we get a 10 seed and get to avoid the 2nd round OSU match up. That would be the ideal outcome in all of this.
This IMO is the correct move.

Call me crazy, but any shot we jump OU if the score holds in the UGA game? Their marquee win would be devalued.

The thing about the SEC teams is so many of them have an unforgivable defect. Ole Miss cannot defend the run. Alabama cannot run the ball. Oklahoma has no offense. A&M and UGA are the only well rounded teams and A&M I think is while well rounded at their best, inconsistent.

ND has specific defects like pass protection against big DEs or an undersized DTs. Not entire sides of the ball.

Depends if they want the playoff game at ND stadium or not. I'd assume for $$$ yes, and that's what will factor in more than either one of the actual teams.

Here’s a crazy thought. Should Bama bench their starters in the 4Q before this gets worse? Or as protection in case it does? Would be a big brain move tbh.

“We figured we’re in and we benched our guys.”

Committee might honestly cut them the slack.

Would be a sign of quitting and that would be far worse
