Has anyone thought about the committee helping ESPN with ratings for Sunday afternoon? If they tell everyone Miami can’t jump ND then so many games mean nothing and there’s no drama besides BYU possibly winning and then bumping out ND. He said they could, not that they would.

If Duke wins the ACC AD's should vote on Duke or Miami to be the conference champion. Duke would get 1 vote. Make it worth their while by dropping a nice bag of money in Durham.

I’d add A&M, who lost to Texas and beat us by one point in an early-season game that was by far the worst performance by our defense all season. After that their only good win was Mizzou. But they were a lock going into Texas. Now they don’t even have to play a CCG and they’ll probably be the five seed.

But at least they had the stones to travel for a top five OOC game. Unlike Ole Miss or Oregon or Indiana. Ill give them that.

At least the SEC is pushing the conference to head in the direction of more in-season competition so teams can be better tested.
SEC Network set to showcase 2026 SEC Football Schedule Reveal, Thu., Dec. 11

The announcement is a bit dramatic but here is what will be covered:

"In the 2026 schedule, SEC teams are set to play nine conference games for the first time as the league continues with a single-standings, non-divisional structure. Each school will play three annual opponents and each team’s remaining six games will rotate among the remaining conference schools. Schools must also annually schedule at least one additional high-quality non-conference game from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 or Notre Dame.

Additionally, each team will face every other SEC program at least once every two years and every opponent home and away in four years."

Jam Miller and Josh Cuevas being listed as questionable stinks to high heaven. A few days ago Miller couldn't put any weight on it but now they think he might play against Georgia? Cuevas was riding around with a boot on a scooter.

DeBoer also said that “in a couple weeks” Miller and Cuevas are expected to be good to go.

I almost believe him.

The saddest indicator of where CFB is at right now is that I'm afraid of a bowl game because it puts eyes on all the lesser-known players on the roster who could become program-changing targets in the portal for other programs.
College football seems to be in a great place except for how repugnant all the conferences seem to be.

Okay gut feeling - do we make the playoff yes or no. Let say Georgia, Texas Tech and Virginia win
Yes 80% sure.
In this scenario if they do flip ND and Miami I am going to go from thinking corruption is a possibility to thinking corruption is a probability.

# that said, I think the golden rule for ND (and everyone else) is you have to win 11 games or else shut up, no whinging including about corruption.

I’ve been optimistic about our likelihood of getting in for weeks. I still need see no reason to change that now. The selection committee is essentially a production company for one of the biggest reality TV shows out there right now. What is better for that than weaponizing Notre Dame even more and driving up the angst. I think they’ll get the best teams in, G6 notwithstanding.

Best part about this is the disrespect aimed at Notre Dame nationally. It’s like people forget how Freeman works. With the talent on this team all you need is to piss him and this team is going to steamroll fools in the post season. I would hate to be the team we play in a bowl if, somehow, we don’t make it.

If Georgia, Tt, Virginia win. we will be in and probably ranked 11th or 12th. the committee knows they can't keep us out. If Alabama, BYU Virginia win we might get left out. If uga, byu and virginia win we are on the edge of the cliff

I’m curious how the odds of Miami or Utah winning would compare to Oklahoma if they started with the assumption that they were all in the field.

Im guessing they both would have better odds then Oklahoma.

We have their odds of winning the championship and their odds of making the playoffs.

Odds of winning the championship given making the playoffs… sounds like some impromptu Bayes Theorem.

I’m too lazy to do it even though the calculation is stupid quick. Exercise is being left to the reader.

Hell, ChatGPT could probably do it.

A trip is still a trip. Give me a trip with my boys over spending time in South Bend in December.
I overlooked the extra practices. That’s the only positive. So there’s that. Otherwise, once Love & the others who will be declaring opt out; I suspect the rest would just as soon spend the holidays w/ family as it’s a rarity at a place like ND where they’ve been in the postseason more often than not.

The tide has turned against ND if we’re #10 and Miami is behind us at #11. We need both BYU and ‘bama to lose; otherwise, thy will be flipped and we’re out.

My gut doesn't trust the committee. If the tables were reversed regarding H2H, I'd be livid if ND beat Miami but was ranked behind them. So I get it. I get what SVP is trying to say. Alabama is ranked ahead of Oklahoma in FPI, FEI, and Sagarin....yet the committee has OU above Bama because of H2H. Bama is the better team, but OU beat them. This alone gives me extreme anxiety that Miami is gonna jump ND. Advanced metrics and even eye test shows that ND is probably the better team. If that Miami vs ND game was played in November, ND would've killed them. We all see can see that (eye test). But to play devil's advocate, I completely get SVP and Prister's points....

...THIS is why Miami and ND should BOTH be in over Virginia and Tulane. It's utterly insane.
