we were fools to believe the committeeStop wetting the bed about the committee, it is fine.
The fact is ND at 10-2 was always 50/50 as it is now but some folks were being fools.

More people will watch on Sunday if they do not know who is in. It's that simple. ESPN is making the picks and I bet this program gets really good ratings. In that case, why keep Miami at 12 behind BYU. Even if that was the play, this is a downright idiotic way to go about it.
Because again, by the same logic that Bama can't drop for losing, neither can BYU.
They should add another row to that graphic: Losses against non top 25 teams. ND 0, Miami 2Concerning
Because sliding ND back multiple spots and jumping Miami up multiple would seem reactionary. I'm not saying that this is 100% what is happening, I am saying that's what my gut is. My gut is that there was lobbying to protect Bama, which gets them slotted up a spot, and then they said "well if BYU loses we can fix the Miami-ND thing then". I also think that they boxed themselves into a bad situation because of certain teams losing and others not losing which has created a log jam that they can't fix.But what’s the downside of doing it now? Maintain the controversy another week for views? ESPN certainly isn’t above that I suppose
It seems they would have put BYU at 12 and Miami at 10 this week if these things actually weighed heavily upon them.Because sliding ND back multiple spots and jumping Miami up multiple would seem reactionary. I've also just come to the conclusion that Hunter Yurachek is just sort of a moron and trying to read into anything he says as part of a grand conspiracy is tilting at windmills. I literally don't think he knows what he's talking about most of the time. I mean he had to know that he was going to be asked about Bama/ND and the best he could come up with was some bullshit about Alabama rushing the ball and a "gutsy" call after they blew a 17 point lead. Never read malice into what could just as easily be explained by incompetence. Also, the more controversy there possibly is, the better the ratings for this dumb ass selection show. Never forget that when reading their comments.
there's no need to drop BYU for a loss though. They can stay put after a loss and will still be left out.Logical reasons...avoid a rematch, ability to drop Bama after they lose and keep them in the playoffs, and because they dropped Bama with a loss...now they can drop BYU too.
Well hopefully this is just ESPN building drama for ratings. They did make us all watch that basketball game last weekMore people will watch on Sunday if they do not know who is in. It's that simple. ESPN is making the picks and I bet this program gets really good ratings.
It’s not logical, but I think the case is that Bama was the first team out last year and they didn’t want to put Bama in a position of being #10, losing a conf champ game, and getting jumped by #11 BYU resulting in Bama getting “screwed” two years in a row.I don't think it started as a week's long conspiracy but I think they started listening to the lobbying over the past two weeks. There is no *logical* case to move Bama up for squeaking by Auburn.
The logic is - they want Bama in the field, and swapping them with ND gives them buffer if Bama loses and BYU wins, Bama isn’t on the chopping block. I really think it’s just a conspiracy to protect Bama and nothing else.I don't think it started as a week's long conspiracy but I think they started listening to the lobbying over the past two weeks. There is no *logical* case to move Bama up for squeaking by Auburn.
We've all been sidetracked with ND vs Miami debates, the real enemy is and always will be the SEC and their owners: Disney/ABC/ESPN. There is zero reason for OU to be ahead of us or Miami. Miami is a much better team than OU and if Miami gets in I won't be upset at Miami, I will be upset that Bama and OU were locked in as part of a brand protection racket. The committee really murdered their credibility with this move. Even if a lot of people online think we should be behind Miami, the outcry against Bama moving up for no reason is real.
You can keep calling me names but I’ve been pretty spot on the last few weeks.only to trolls like you
So this is fair, giving them grace that in a close loss to Georgia + BYU wins that they could keep them in over ND. This is actually the least doomsday scenario for ND in the sense of ND staying above Miami... Bama loses + BYU loses they could drop Bama back behind ND and keep them in the playoffs still. It’s not logical, but I think the case is that Bama was the first team out last year and they didn’t want to put Bama in a position of being #10, losing a conf champ game, and getting jumped by #11 BYU resulting in Bama getting “screwed” two years in a row.
The lack of Navy rank may have something to do with them ranking N Texas. They already ranked Tulane and North Texas and that guarantees the winner of the AAC is the at large over JMU. North Texas handled Navy this year.To me, the biggest red flag is actually Navy being unranked. Navy is #23 in the polls and them being out says they aren't looking for any "justification" to keep ND in.
Bama has previously beaten Georgia. In Athens. BYU already lost by 20 points I believe to Texas Tech. Should Bama lose, it’s hard to ding them…BYU on the other hand…you had two cracks at em. SorryIn that case, why keep Miami at 12 behind BYU. Even if that was the play, this is a downright idiotic way to go about it.

I hear you, be define “punish”? Is it punishment to drop a team in the rankings if they were never actually in the payoff field? BYU is not in the playoff currently, so it is hardly a punishment to re-rank them when they lose — that was not the case for Texas or Penn St.They can't. By their own logic, they can't move BYU.
Remember last year, Penn State and Texas both lost and stayed ahead of ND. Committee stated they won't punish teams for losing in the CCG. The committee has a buffer to protect them from the head-to-head yokels.
I’m all for this projection… screen shot.

Well the committee can't punish Bama if they lose Saturday, they're missing their star RB capable of incredible feats like putting up 83 whole yards on a coachless not bowl eligible team.Who is now injured
