Doesn't look like a top of the board kind of prospect from his film
Have we learned by now to not judge a guy who Mickens offers?Doesn't look like a top of the board kind of prospect from his film

Hey, blind squirrel, right? lolYour finest moment. Agreed (oddly enough)
Not questioning the offer, just don't see that he would be top of the safety board based on film, and hoping that we can afford to be picky with our DB's based on all the talent we have accumulated. Generally would expect to see some more obvious tackling and physicality for an all-state high school safety type, there's not really evidence of that in the film.Have we learned by now to not judge a guy who Mickens offers?

Need 2 Nickel types. Bigger nickel, pass nickelNot sure how the staff views him but looks like the preferred build of a Nickel in Freeman's defense? 5'11" 190?
'25 Devonta Smith 5'11 195
'24 Jordan Clark 5'10" 182
'23 Thomas Harper 5'10" 190
'22 Tariq Bracy 5'10 185
I guess I'd ask:doesn’t mean he should be our top priority at safety to secure this early in the cycle
He is supposedly committing in 3 weeks, and earliest signing date for 2027 is more than a year from now. I’m only suggesting that there could be higher quality DB prospects to prioritize, akin to slow playing Amir Brown (despite offer), because we have a wealth of RB talent in this years classI guess I'd ask:
a) What leads you to believe that he's our "top priority" at safety?
b) What makes you think that ND, or any other school, views him as a safety?
His highlight package also shows him playing corner. Under Freeman/Mickens ND uses the Ohio State recruiting template. They recruit athletes and figure out positions later.

Is there not a question of the “actionability” of offers? I guess the associated NIL offer for a player now defines that to an extentIll call coach and have him withdraw the offer.
Is there anyone on the board you had in mind in particular? He is supposedly committing in 3 weeks, and earliest signing date for 2027 is more than a year from now. Apparently we have offers out to 11 other safeties; I’m guessing staff has a pecking order for who they value the most . Is it wrong to imagine this guy isn’t top of the board ? I don’t think his highlight film screams future NFL player, whereas a guy like Ayden Pouncy it’s hard not to see that in his future. I do question the actionability of an offer like Amir Brown. He technically has an offer, but if we were pushing for his commitment seems likely we would have had it.…otherwise known as questioning the offer?
