Sitting two games instead of just one points to healing physical injuries, not healing mentally.

Unless you had a direct conversation with CG or a coach who told you it was mental, then STFU about his mental health.
You think not being able to play at all, out for the game, on november 8th, then on november 10th not even being on the injury report is "healing physical injuries"? "C'mon Man"

And I'm Charles Woodson

He was Questionable and dressed for both games. Meaning if needed they could have played Gray. If he was benched due to effort - your original suggestion - or given a break due to mental health - your new obsession - he wouldn’t have dressed. Or maybe, just maybe, he had real nagging physical injuries that could be played through but preferred not to against lower opponents as to prepare for the future. Outrageous right?

But don’t let any more facts interrupt you.

I don't think you know what the definition of FACT is. As you are posting hypotheticals I'm posting facts. It's a fact he was on the injury report both weeks and was ruled out both weeks before the game started. It's a fact he dressed and warmed up. It's a fact he played the entire game vs USC. Then common-sense kicks in.

He played the entire game vs usc, got burned, and did terrible per every grading site/mechanism there is. It's a fact he got chewed out from Freeman during the game after what appeared to be some serious loafing going on at times. He then proceeded to be deemed questionable for the next two games, but ok to warm up, then two days after being ruled out, he's no longer on the injury report.

It's so obvious what happened. It's great we had a bye and 2 easy games for him to sit and "get right" in the middle of the season.

Effort is a decision, he wasn't giving it at all times vs usc, and like freeman said, you don't give effort you aren't playing. He had to mentally get right and show the level of effort needed in practice (once again as freeman said) allowing him to play and start vs pitt. Freeman verbally will protect him and state it was a physical thing, no coach is going to come out and say he was mentally soft or not focused even when it's the truth. Freeman is talking all about technique with schmidt. Same thing, it's all mental. Schmidt was drilling long kicks in warmups, but he's clearly not confident in the game.

He was never ruled out of either game. He was listed questionable on the final injury reports prior to kickoff, hence why he was available, dressed and in the two deep.

Freeman has also openly talked about the sports psychologists with the kickers so that makes yours Freeman lied thing (a story you can’t keep straight) look even worse. Thanks for the contradiction!

Everything I bolded is not factual statements and your made up information/opinion

He was listed out just before both games. You know why he warmed up and was dressed?? Do i really need to tell you how this stuff works? My gosh people are so obtuse to reality. Thank you for bringing up sports psychologist, because i guarantee gray has spent a lot of time with one the last few weeks.

How many people have to tell you that it's a shitty take for you to realize it's a shitty take?

But I know your type. You feed off of it.

Greathouse was ruled out before the Navy game and went through warmups. But don’t let us stop you Mr. Football Genius

The best way to get a guys confidence back is to bench him for the two easiest opponents and then bring him back against what is supposed to be a potent offense on the road in the biggest game left for the year

Your take on freeman not being a good coach last year and it was all denbrock and golden has really aged well.

Holy shit he really can’t help himself. I’m in awe. I gotta stop falling for the troll.
If you were better looking, enjoyable to be around, and utilized common sense it would probably help you land someone more attractive.

Thank you for finally getting how elite coaching works. A play right out of saban's book! Playing time is earned in practice not given!

My take on freeman was he's not a good X's and O's coach, i still believe that. I said even back in 2021 I thought he could be a better HC than DC, but I admittedly was very very down on him as an overall leader after NIU. He responded impressively leadership wise.

So the theory here is that ND's coaches didn't notice that he was "half assing" it and played Christian Gray every single defensive snap despite his lack of effort.

They then reviewed the tape and were appalled at Gray's effort. They were so appalled that they had to keep him out of two games to get him mentally right to play.

ND coaches were begrudgingly satisfied by his effort that they let him play every snap against Pitt.

That makes a ton more sense than Gray was really dinged up and so they held him out against two teams where he would not be needed so he could get as healthy as he could for a game against Pitt where he would be needed.

You live in a dream world. Most of us wouldn't care about that dream world, except your dream world involves disparaging a ND athlete.

Did Gray even give up a reception on the first drive? The catch by the TE seemed like it was Smith’s assignment in zone

"He played the way we expect Christian Gray to play. You can tell he's different when he's healthy. He is a different football player and he showed that on Saturday. He showed that in practice and he came out the game feeling great, and so we got to continue to make sure we keep him healthy if we can at all possible." - Freeman, today.

Edit - Absolutely insane to believe being hampered by a hip injury could be mistaken as a lack of effort. That could NEVER happen

That has to be a coded message.

"Junior cornerback Christian Gray is also back in the lineup for the first time in a month. Gray missed the past two games with a left hip injury but looked to be his normal self during pregame warmups."

I'm sure the staff was just lying to the beat about this one... in every way possible.
