Okay. Here we go. Before I say anything or go any further, please remember that this isn’t something I get to do often. So, I don’t really know who “won” the practice. This is one practice, so I would not take this as gospel. What I saw tonight might’ve been different than what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow.
Defense:
-it appears that they have not missed a beat. They’re fast at basically every position.
-Starting safeties were Shuler and Talich
-Sneed working with the DL in drills, mainly the edge rushers.
-Pretty much status quo, which is a good thing IMO. I don’t remember seeing a blown coverage. Just very solid all around.
Offense:
-Lambert working with the 1’s at RG. That’s a development worth monitoring.
-Carr loves Pauling and Greathouse
-it’s obvious they’re keeping Love’s workload light. He probably had 10~ total carries
-Craig with a few low snaps near goal line, after Carr had led them down.
Now what you’ve all been waiting for…
Carr took every single rep with the 1’s. Before I go any further, this does not mean that’s what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow.
Carr was not perfect. I’d say he completed roughly 60%~ of his throws. But damn does that ball come out with confidence and with zip. He had a great 20 yard TD to Greathouse. No interceptions. IrishLion is right, he is not afraid to push the envelope.
Minchey was good. Took all of his reps with the 2’s. He also isn’t afraid to push it downfield. He had a TD to Burress, but it was called back for OPI. His mobility is notable.
I’m sure I’m missing a bunch of stuff. My mind and eyes were going every which direction. If you have a question then just ask. I’ll do my best to answer.
